From the LA Times, a correction: An article in Tuesday's California section about hazing at Cal State Chico mistakenly said that a pledge to a fraternity at nearby Butte Community College died of alcohol poisoning. He did not die but was hospitalized. The article also said Chico has a population of 35,000; according to the city, the population is 71,317. In addition, University President Paul Zingg was quoted saying the school would shut down its Greek system if problems with hazing did not...

As I stated in an article last week: http://drguy.joeuser.com/index.asp?AID=70519 The American public was woefully ill informed about the Terri Schiavo case, and had they all of the relevant and correct information, then the results of the poll would be radically different.  Today John Zogby came out with a poll that proved me right. In the poll, Zogby found that when using the term 'incapacitated', the public supported the feeding of Terri by a 43-30 plurality.  In addition...

Seems that the PC bug has bitten a high schooler in Washington state.  His crime?  Wearing a T-Shirt with his schools nickname on it! OMG!  SHOCK!  Was their nickname something like Redskin?  Or Chiefs?  Maybe Darkees? Nope, the name of the school is Snohomish, and one of the nicknames, clearly listed on their web site is the 'Snohos', and that was what was on the t-shirt. So for showing some school spirit, this senior was suspended! I think the school a...

In what can only be described as a deafening silence from the left, Sandy Berger has quietly agreed to plead guilty to destroying National Security Documents.  These were the documents he wanted to hide from the 9-11 commission that showed the culpability of the Clinton Administration in not pursuing Terrorism on his watch. This is also why Clinton originally said he let Osama Bin Laden go 3 different times (when he thought he documents would be made public), before he retracted his stat...

This is for Jill User and Little Whip, who each in their own way asked a question about Catholics and the Pope. And for Manopeace and Moderateman, who of a different creed, paid the man the highest honor. First, it is not a sad day.  Many are bereft, but anyone who understands the man, his religion and teachings is not sad for him.  We rejoice that he is with God now.  We are sad for the world as it has lost a great person, and even Jews and Muslims acknowledge his holiness. ...

Pat Buchanan was the target of yet another compassionate liberal trying to deny him his day of free speech.  While I only agree with about 20% of what Buchanan says, I have never advocated shutting him up. But like William Kriston just 2 days before, apparently free speech is only for the liberals.  All others apply at the back door.

it is getting to the point that every time he opens his mouth, and is not screaming, Howard dean is making a joke of himself!  So in honor of Howard "Screaming" Dean, I will start a column on Deanisms! Today we have the first installment. Addressing a rally in Pennsylvania, Dean is quoted as calling Rick Santorum a " Liar " and " rightwinger who actually lives in Virginia " I am sure this will come as a shock to the right wingers who tried to get him stripped of his committee's chairmans...

Seems our friends in California have discovered a cure for obesity through impotence! This is a great discovery as they are actually taking care of 2 problems with one procedure!  Over population AND soaring health insurance costs! From the Article in the Pacific Northwest Medical Journal: Beginning last November, the city of San Francisco began a program whereupon clinically obese men between the ages of 18 and 55 could undergo a procedure whereupon approximately 1/...

With few exceptions, the leaders of the left have tried to politicize the plight of Terri Schiavo.  But it did not start within the last few weeks, but has been going on for years. What they have failed to grasp is in arguing against Terri Schiavo, they are not being seen as the champions of dignity, but the champions of death.  In other words, in the last election Ed Jordan talking about the disabled, said: "there is good reason to believe they are sensitive to the fact that l...
