While looking at a house, my brother asked the real estate agent which direction was north because, he explained, he didn't want the sun waking him up every morning. She asked, "Does the sun rise in the North?" When  my brother explained that the sun rises in the east, (and has for some time), she shook her head and said, "Oh, I don't keep up with that stuff."                . . . . . .  She also votes! I use...

Quotes from some of people about the Aftermath of the Hurricane: "The police chief boasted that 7,000 more military, police and other law officers on the streets had made New Orleans 'probably the safest city in America right now.' "--Associated Press, Sept. 8 Uh, Genius, might it be more the fact that THERE ARE NO PEOPLE IN THE CITY????? "Gulf Coast residents would have been better off if the United States had simply declared war on Louisiana and Mississippi. The victims...

We have just been treated to someone here at JU admitting to making a mistake and appologizing for it.  I have admitted mistakes in the past as well, but it does seem to be one sided as several others at JU dont have that capability. One could call Doc's an honest mistake, or as one called it, an innocent mistake, neither of which Doc would accept.  He said he blew it, and took his medicine.  But let's look at someone else's 'mistake'.  The 'mistake' that Sandy Burgler...

Everyone wants to point fingers at who dropped the ball when it comes to the relief of New Orleans.  Brown, Bush, Blanco and Nagin all have reaped a healthy dose of culpability.  But as another blogger already pointed out, the only real screaming seems to be coming from Louisiana, while Florida, Alabama and Mississippi seem to be just going about he business of the clean up and burying the dead. But the problem in Louisiana was made a lot worse by the Levees break (Led Zeppelin rif ...

Seems the queen of deciet and lies has decided not to do a bus tour to spit on the GIs this time around.  Could it be she is actually getting smarter?  Hardly! Could it be that she is finally realized she is wrong? In your dreams.  NO, she posits a lame excuse of why she is doing it, but the real reason is she has been upstaged by an actress loonier, loopier and stupider than her.  Cindy Sheehan. Guess she knows when the last of her credits have rolled.

First off, most of us know that the flood waters in New Orleans are a toxic nightmare.  I dont think that is open for debate.  Anyone want to debate that? Ok, they are deadly.  And the EPA has confirmed it (DOH!) Floodwaters in New Orleans contain bacteria associated with sewage that are at least 10 times higher than acceptable safety levels, making direct contact by rescue workers and remaining residents dangerous, the first government tests confirmed Wednesday. See...

In a case that is precedent setting for several reasons, a man who raised and paid child support for his son, later found out that the boy was not his, but the result of an illicit liason of his ex wife and a friend.  The NJ Court of Appeals awarded the man the child support he paid, but since the man and the son have a good relationship (albeit very strained today probably), the court did not award any emotional or punitive damages. I think this is an excellent ruling, but I have to won...

You would think that anyone in such a high office as Senator, would take the time to read the Constitution.  You would think, but as we have seen from some other loons on the left, Dick Head Durbin cant read!  Indeed, he not only spouts his ignorance (Gitmo is run by Nazis as a Gulag), he puts pen to paper and proves it! Nowhere did the Constitution expressly give Congress the authority to pass the Civil Rights Act. Now if this was you or me, I could understand the ignorance...

In her own words, the woman who demanded justice is not just a raving loon. She takes George Bush's warning on Zarqawi and Bin laden: "If Zarqawi and bin Laden gain control of Iraq, they would create a new training ground for future terrorist attacks.  They'd seize oil fields to fund their ambitions. They could recruit more terrorists by claiming a historic victory over the United States and our coalition." And comes to the conclusion the war was for oil - at $3/gallon ...

Throughout this whole day constant trouble had been experienced  owing to the large number of drunken people along the waterfront. My force was unarmed with the exception of the officers, who carried revolvers; and the police, of whom I only saw two, were absolutely helpless. The crowds rushed saloon after saloon and looted the stocks  becoming intoxicated early in the day.  In my opinion great loss  of life resulted from men and women becoming stupefied by liquor...

Moderateman got on a horse because of what he heard the victims of Katrina saying on the news.  They were DEMANDINF Help, and he was offended.  Well, I am too to a point.  But this is not about a question of whether the victims should be demanding or asking.  This is about who is doing it. 2 years ago, Virginia was hit by a former class 5 hurricane (class 2 when it made land fall) called Isabel.  It was as massive as Katrina, but fortunately not as strong.  Still...

Just after Katrina made New Orleans a soup bowl, and the gulf coast look like an Indonesian coast on December 27th, several people, here and elsewhere, opined that while America was the first to help others during disasters, other countries shied away from US because we are the 'Big Kid" on the block. But now we see that many other Countries are indeed ponying up to the Charity trough, and offering help. And while the support is not a lot in real terms, that is not important.  What is im...
