IN a cell phone conversation, Chuck Schummer was over heard to say: “We are contemplating how we are going to go to war over this.” Bush has not submitted one name yet, or even floated any trial balloons, yet here is one of the heads of the democrat party already discussing how they are going to torpedo the nominee. IN a direct swipe at the gang of 14, Schummer also stated: “A Priscilla Owen or Janice Rogers Brown style appointment may not have been extraordinary to the appel...

Standing in for Howlin Howie this week is none other than the blonde with no blonde hair, Maxine Waters. Not to be outdone by Howlin Howie, she recently pontificated: "The president is a liar," she continued. "Dick Cheney, the chief architect of the Big Lie, is not only a liar, he is a thief." She accused Cheney of helping his former company Halliburton rake off illicit war profits in Iraq. Of course like any charge from the left, no evidence is needed to back up her claims.  Af...

"Timing of Next Indonesian Tsunami a Mystery"--headline, Associated Press, June 27 Isn't it just like uninvited guests to show up with no advanced warning? "Senator Seeks Route for England to Take Pentagon Post"--headline, Congress Daily, June 23 Didn't they try that back in 1812? "Suspect Critical After Being Shot in Stolen Wrecker"--headline, Houston Chronicle, June 24 Seems everyone is complaining after getting shot. "Lightning Strike Unexpected, Deadly"--headline, Chic...

Reid has basically thrown down the gauntlet over Sandra Day O'Connor's replacement.  He has picked out 4 republican senators as shoe ins: Seeking a possible consensus nominee, Reid recommended Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Mel Martinez of Florida, Mike DeWine of Ohio and Mike Crapo of Idaho. All Fine Legislators and all with a common background.  The US Senate.  Seems he does not like the 55-45 split I guess.  When asked about another senator, o...

For those who have not lived in my area in the last 30 years, the name probably means nothing. Indeed, he is one of the thousand points of light that Bush I talked about.  Long before Bush I was president. He died today.  May the angels take him and keep his widow in peace. Thomas Cannon was never a rich man.  He worked for the USPS for almost all his life, and never amassed any fortune.  Why?  because he gave it all away.  not to This scam or that scam. ...

The press has been having a field day with the 911 commision report that states there is no connection between the events of 9-11 and Iraq.  So much so that they are actually mis-speaking.  But that should not surprise anyone here. My question to you, is do you believe there is a connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda, and can you give reasons for yoru belief? I am interested to see what the more informed members of the world think, versus the American MainStream media that cant te...

Gideon recently wrote an article on the polarizing effect that the left is playing on American Society today.  It was about one issue, yet it got me to thinking.  What is going on with the left today? I don't mean only the leadership.  But ma and pa liberal who hold liberal values dear, or Johnny Liberal who is a dyed in the wool liberal and knows his stuff.  And of course the loony loopy left that has taken over the leadership. I see the left in 3 parts (I am sure you ...

In a direct snub to DC, The Rhode Island senate has passed, 33-1, a bill to allow medical marijuana to be grown and used by patients More power to them!  While the SCOTUS grabs more and more power for the government, it is refreshing to see that the states, especially some of the liberal ones, are thumbing their nose at the Feds! The feds cannot dictate to the states what laws are enforced, and the FBI is not the SS yet. During the 55 mph debacle, many western states complied with the...

In what is being described as a colossal mis understanding (and perhaps that is mild), New England Patriots Owner, Robert Kraft, lost his latest Super Bowl ring.  Apparently, he gave it to Vladimir Putin to look at and Putin took it as a gift.  it is now housed in the Kremlin museum! Well, Kraft has 2 others, and it is not like Putin was keeping it.  For the first time in History, an American Super Bowl ring has a place of honor in the Kremlin! It is funny, and I think Kraft...

Recently an article was posted stating that an American Helicopter was downed in Iraq and that 17 American Soldiers were missing.  The article then went on to demand that we pull our troops out of Iraq. The problem is, the helicopter was downed in Afghanistan.  Once the error was pointed out, I asked the author if that meant we should pull our troops out of Afghanistan.  To which no answer was received.  So I ask you.  All the ones against war in any battlefield, shou...

I have stated before that I have been very lucky to have had some great bosses in my career.  And one of the best has moved on, and is now thinking semi retirement. Bill Bosher was Superintendent of Public Instruction when I worked at the Va. Dept of Education.  And man could that man talk!  A very nice man, who backed up words with deeds! When I left there, it was under friendly circumstances.  But unlike some bosses I have known (current one in this group), instead of...
