IN a cell phone conversation, Chuck Schummer was over heard to say:

“We are contemplating how we are going to go to war over this.”

Bush has not submitted one name yet, or even floated any trial balloons, yet here is one of the heads of the democrat party already discussing how they are going to torpedo the nominee. IN a direct swipe at the gang of 14, Schummer also stated:

“A Priscilla Owen or Janice Rogers Brown style appointment may not have been extraordinary to the appellate court but may be extraordinary to the Supreme Court.”

So any Minority or woman (or both) is now extraordinary and thus can be fillibustered. 

When O'Connor announced her retirement, my first statement was that it was going to be a hot summer.  My second was the Nuclear Option was back in play.  I really dont undserstand how the goons on the left can attack a jurist that has not been submitted, or even contemplate a fillibuster just because they dont toe the liberal line.  When Ruth Buzzy Ginsberg was nominated, she won unanimous approval, not because the conservatives thought she was a moderate, but because her qualifications for the court were deemed to be adequate.

Both the names that Schummer has already named also received the same approval from the ABA, but since they are not toadies to the left, Schummer will try to fillibuster them.

For all the liberals who scream that Bush promised to be a uniter, not a divider, you cant be a uniter when the other sides only words are no.  Before the question has even been asked.
