The ink is not dry on the nomination, not a single brief has been submitted, yet the NY Times has already decided Alito is a bad Candidate.  Why?  this nomination is yet another occasion to bemoan lost opportunities. Mr. Bush could have signaled that he was prepared to move on to a more expansive presidency by nominating a qualified moderate who could have garnered a nearly unanimous Senate vote rather than another party-line standoff. So in essence, what they are saying is ...

Michael Schiavo has endorsed Tim Kaine, democrat, in Virginia's Gubernatorial race.  Schiavo, a resident of Florida, is not allowed to vote however. Terri Schiavo did not endorse anyone and had no comment.

I am putting this under religion because lately there has been a lot of misconceptions about Catholicism. Now I will be the first to say that I don't understand all other religions, but I am willing to and have learned from the believers of said religions.  And when I am wrong, call me on it, although as I don't assume about other religions much, I don't guess I will get many calls. But lately, someone has decided Catholicism is a cult!  And they listed reasons, 6 of 7 wrong! and...

Someone asked me on an article I wrote why I 'regurgitate' other people's work.  I don't, but then I had to carefully explain to this n00b1e that I read the news and see things that interest, outrage or make me take pause.  So I write about them, quote from them, and link them.  But I am not regurgitating them.  I am taking the story and then adding my own opinion. Now this particular blogger is outraged, I guess, that I am conservative and so slam liberals so much.  ...

Senate Democrats Yesterday invoked Rule #21 and dragged the senate into a secret session.  The Pretext was that the Senate Intelligence Committee was dragging its heels on completing an investigation into the faulty intelligence for the Iraq War. The Problem is, it has been completed, except for some foot dragging by the democ rats ! According to Pat Roberts, the Chairman: "We started on Phase Two in February of last year," Roberts said. "On May 17th, it was complete." But ...

The MPAA is suing a man because of what his grandson did.  Not because of what he did.  Apparently, a year ago, the grandson downloaded 4 movies from one of the file sharing services.  As the story is told, he then deleted them.  He was curious. Now the MPAA, after trying to blackmail the man, is suing him for $600,000 in damages!  For 4 copies of movies never viewed, and that no longer exist!  This is so stupid as to be ludicrous!  First off, while I don't ...

Greenpeace, motoring around in huge ship, that must run on hydrogen if you listen to them, damaged a reef in the Philippines.  Instead of a mea culpa, Greenpeace blamed the Philippine Government for outdated maps. The maps may have been outdated, but if they were not motoring around in that yacht (I am sure it was going there anyway), there would have been no damage!  So while they were allegedly there to study to see if the reef was damaged, they made sure it was before they left! ...

One of the most common lectures you will get from the liberal leadership is the old and tired "do as I say, not as I do".  This is a very common one for parents when raising children, and the liberal leadership thinks that all americans are children, so why not keep saying it? These are the same people who 6 years ago said: MoveOn.org Civic Action was started by Joan Blades and Wes Boyd, two Silicon Valley entrepreneurs. Although neither had experience in politics, they shared deep ...

It is massive, and I think very good.  But my personal opinion is it has 2 fatal flaws: 1. Mortgage Deduction:  That Lobby is just too powerful and it will not allow this to go through. 2. State Income Tax Dedcution:  The Big states (the most heavily taxed are some of the biggest) are not going to kill their golden goose.  WHile texas and Florida love it, NY and California dont. Any other wagers on the outcome?

There has been a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth from democrats and left leaning members of America.  They rail about calling into question their patriotism (no one has as far as I know, just their judgement), and their support of the troops. "We support the troops, but not the war!" Goes the hue and cry. And indeed not many conservatives have really accused most on the left of not supporting the troops (Cindy Sheehan excepted).  And I for one truly beleive that most Americans ...

The Nomination of Samuel Alito is barely a day old, and Some democrats, notably Barbara Boxer, have already stated that the Filibuster option is back on the table.  While Boxer is a charter member of the loony loopy Luddite liberals, Schumer and Durbin have been growling as well. This is not a question of will they try to filibuster, as only time will tell.  This is a question of should they. Already 3 of the 7 Republican members of the gang of 14 have stated this is no time to f...

The Democrats dont like Samuel Alito, and they have already started a campaign to nit pick his nomination.  I am sure they are going to find a few things, other than he is not a mind numbed robot, to vote against him, and there is even now (before the ink is even dry) of a filibuster.  I hope they try the latter. But one thing that cannot be said against Alito is that he is not qualified.  Haiving spent 19 years on the Federal Bench, and having been confimred to the second high...

An elementary school in Massachusetts has decided to ban Holloween because "some" parents said it offended their religious beliefs. What beliefs?  How can a pretend day offend religious beliefs in Mass?  This is the state that just legalized gay marriage.  I would like to know what religion approves of gay marriages, and not a costume pretend day? Jewhovah Witnesses?  I think not! This is not only stupid, but dangerous!  Next, these scrouges (sorry wrong hollida...

We often hear from the liberals that the end result is not what is important, what is important is the intentions.  And no matter how you argue with them, they always come back to the "intentions". 30 years ago, with little or no scientific evidence to back them up, the EPA banned DDT.  It was supposed to be ruining the environment and killing Bald eagles, but as we later found out, it was poachers endangering the eagles, not DDT. The elimination of DDT was not to bad of a hardsh...

Such would Harru Reid and the democrat leadership have us believe.  Reid is even calling for the resignation of Karl Rove for what reason?  Because he is innocent.  Good move Horrible Harry. But through all the doom and gloom, the Sheehan non-press conference and pretend die down, comes the news that consumer spending shot up in September, and income shot up even more!  Spending was up .5% while income was up 1.7%!  Most of that increase, of course came from the EVIL ...
