There has been a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth from democrats and left leaning members of America.  They rail about calling into question their patriotism (no one has as far as I know, just their judgement), and their support of the troops. "We support the troops, but not the war!" Goes the hue and cry.

And indeed not many conservatives have really accused most on the left of not supporting the troops (Cindy Sheehan excepted).  And I for one truly beleive that most Americans on the left do truly support the troops and want them to succeed, even if they were against the war to begin with.

However that belief does not extend to all members of the left and indeed especially not to the left leadership.  They have demonstrated at almost every turn their utter contempt for the troops.  Not out of principal, but out of hatred for Bush ("I voted for the $87 million before I voted against it" - John Kerry).

Now comes further proof that the left leadership is contemptous of the troops in general.  Trying to rally the democrat leadership to her view of what should be, Madeline Albright said the following:

''The Democrats are basically supportive of the troops."

Basically?  So you have problems with the troops (They are just nazis and stalinist anyway, just ask Dick Durbin)?  Basically?  What the hell is Basically?  I know George Lopez uses it to preface a lie in his comedy routine.  What context are you using it Ms. Albright?

Why could you have not said simply "The democrats are supportive of the troops".  Simple and to the point.  Or has all these lying criminal charges that have been lodged of late, perhaps you did not want to get nailed with one of those?

When the leadership of the democrats cannot even be honest between themselves, why should anyone else believe they would be honest any other time?
