Remember this headline from 15 years ago? Iran Threatens Israel if U.S. Attacks Replace the N with a Q and what do you have?  Gulf War I.  Replace a mad mullah with Saddam, and the story remains the same.  Except this time, no one needs to kick the mad mullahs out of anything.  So what does it means? It means that Israel has nothing to lose if Iran continues on its course.  Iran is basically inviting the Israelis to remove a threat from its existance.  A...

Kudos to a caller on Rush Limbaugh today.  Here's the setup: Congress has stated we must offer amnesty for the illegal immigrants as they are doing jobs no American wants to do.  Part of the Amnesty is a fine, but - Learning English and becoming citizens in 5 years are the key parts.  With me so far? Ok, so if all these illegals then become legal Americans, they will not want to do those jobs they are doing now!  So in 5 years what happens?  We have to import anoth...

Frank Herbert is a well renowned, and by some, regarded as one of the best Science Fiction Writers of all time.  Unfortunately, he passed away several years ago, so his work was cut short.  But not before penning the Dune Series. In the fourth book in that series, the one critics call his most philisophical book, he penned the following missive as an entry in the Stolen Journals of Lord Leto II: Liberal Bigots are the ones who trouble me the most.  I distrust the extremes....

Mason, I know you love you bike, and I have not squealed and told her about your thoughts of cheating!  Seriously! But should you ever find yourself in my neighborhood, let me drive you.  This is becoming a regular story in the press around here and it sickens me.  Motorists just dont give a damn. I have seen a lot of cyclists downtown.  I gather the drivers are better down there (some are the couriers).  But this is like the 4th in the past 2 months outside of dow...

Well, at least in the pay as you go media.  It seems Airhead America is down 33% in the liberal mecca of NY and about to lose its flagship station.  And The Daily KOS, a real wacko loony loopy luddite left wing blog that is just this side of du.org, latest tome is tanking it on the selling list.  It seems that no one wants to be constantly bombarded with a daily diatribe of negativism.  Not even their faithful (only in position, not in the LLL aspect) dont want to hear it. ...

I dont know who the candidates are going to be in 2008, but I know of one I would vote for in a heart beat.  His name is George Allen, and yes he is my senator. I liked him as governor.  He was a good governor, but then his tenure was not a tough time.  Still, he managed the state well (until recently, we have been blessed with mostly good governors on the last 15 years).  Then he ran against Clinton Jr, err, Chuck Robb.  And beat a sitting senator.  It was long ...

I guess I am different from most of JU.  I graduated High School in Europe, and then we all split for colleges in the states.  Lots of friends.  We exchanged Mail addresses and went on our way. I went to a high priced, but good school in Ohio.  But I wrote my friends.  WROTE.  This was in the 70s.  There was no email.  I had about 2 dozen.  I wrote them once a week.  I was on a work to study program.  I had to work to afford to study!&nbs...

When I was young, my mother cut my hair.  She had 2 styles.  Crew cut (hate it!) and Bowl cut (at least it was not a crew cut).  I remember going off to college and getting a girl to cut my hair, I actually could tell her how I wanted it! (Although I was clueless at the time). Then came post College and I was not going to get a MOM cut!  So I was recommended to a stylist that was my mother's friend.  She was a professional!  But I did not know what she looked lik...

Ah yes, my little chickadee!  Yessss.  It seems the internet is the new phone book, or morning paper.  And cannot be used for termination. At least to one NY Judge.  Oops!  That is going to hurt a lot of employers. But the judge is right (not in his ruling - that I will leave to legal beagles) in his definition of the Internet. How many people use the yellow pages?  How many actually READ a newspaper? (I did today waiting for the dentist.  Did I mentio...

My Son was down again this weekend.  There was not a lot we could do Saturday as it was raining (which we needed), but we did manage to see Silent Hills (If you are thinking of seeing it and have not, save your money!  Boring!).  SO we mostly hung out and talked, and re-arragned his room some. Sunday was a bit different.  He wanted to earn some money for a DVD, but as it had just rained 2 days, there was not really a lot to do outside.  After all, everyone knows you d...

In what can only be described as a satire of putrid hate, the loons on the far left have gone off the deepend again.  As some may know, Dick Cheney took advantage of the elimination of the charity ceiling that congress passed in the wake of Katrina.  Prior to last fall, you were limited to deducting 50% of your income in charitable donations.  But since the ceiling was removed, you could bet the farm and donate as much as you wanted. Dick Cheney did.  he donated 77% o...
