Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

My Son was down again this weekend.  There was not a lot we could do Saturday as it was raining (which we needed), but we did manage to see Silent Hills (If you are thinking of seeing it and have not, save your money!  Boring!).  SO we mostly hung out and talked, and re-arragned his room some.

Sunday was a bit different.  He wanted to earn some money for a DVD, but as it had just rained 2 days, there was not really a lot to do outside.  After all, everyone knows you do not cut wet grass, or rake wet mulch.  Everyone that is except my wife!  We had to rake the Front Beds as she wants to put new mulch down and it had to be yesterday!

So we did.  And my truck sure could tell it was wet mulch!  So we spent most of the day raking the old mulch and hauling it off to the dump.  Then I took him to Best Buy to get his DVD.  He EARNED it (I was not paid. ).

So after coming home and discussing his latest endeavors (he Got 2 Nellies for his Projects - he says they are like Academy Awards), it was time to take him back to his mother.

And he said "I wish I did not have to go now.".

Best damn present I have ever gotten!

Sounds like you're doing something right. keep up the good work and stay close to your boy - he will be grateful someday, and then you'll be fast friends!

Yea, it sounds like it!  And you are right!  I have time to spend with them now.  Wish I did this a lot sooner.

I have very fond memories of times with my dad. Sometimes, I wanna smack him, I won't lie, but I'm sure he feels that way about his father, too. Most of the time, we are really good friends, and I'm glad to have that type of relationship with him. How old are your boys, anyway?

and, I must add, he wants to smack me around plenty too, I'm positive.

One turned 20 last friday, and the other is 13.  The older one is at college and no longer has time for parents (Hey!  I did not either), but the younger one and I just go go go usually.  Making up for lost time.  I am glad to have gotten the second chance.

I suspect he no longer wants to smack you around, and instead is bragging about his 2 (?) great boys he raised!  He has reason to be proud.

Yeah, he's probably cool with the two of us, it's the two younger ones he has to worry about now . . . two daughters aged seventeen and thirteen? Not fun!

Thanks IG.  My son means the world to me, and when I can please him, it makes my day.

Now I know he does not want to smack you around.  He is pulling out his hair, and smacking their boy friends around.

What a great way to end a nice weekend.

Now, Doc, you'll have to explain what a 'Nelly' is to this ignorant Aussie. Or am I missing something really obvious?
