By now, anyone with children under the age of 10 probably knows that there is a new animated movie out, Curious George.  And pretty much everyone knows the story of the monkey, Curious George and his benefactor(?), the man with the Yellow hat (actually, he is dressed in all yellow).  It is a cute story and one that I never felt was bad to share with my children.  Apparently I was wrong, at least according to animal rights activist Robin Roth. "The books are really irresponsib...

I just did an experiment.  I posted an article to my blog and made sure (twice) that it was not in the forums.  Guess what?  It was. I then tried a third time, and I guess 3 is the charm. Now I know many of late have been nailed for posting in forums.  And yes this one did name some names (none in a bad light).  However, if this bug is out there, how many others have been nailed for posting in forums when they did not mean to? Mine was NBD.  But others are....

2 states are on the verge of Electing Black governors.  While I take pride in the fact that Virginia was the first state to do so (and a former confederate one to boot), Pennsylvania and Ohio may come in second and third.  Lynn Swann appears to have the GOP nomination sewn up in Pennsylvania, and Ken Blackwell looks to get the GOP nod in Ohio. What?  That must be a misprint! No, it is not.  Republicans are on the verge of running 2 blacks for the governorships of 2 majo...

It seems that a certain death row inmate has found a novel way to beat the rap.  Gain 200 pounds! Mitchell Rupe was sentenced to death for killing 2 people in a bank Robbery.  But the Washington State Supreme court sided with is lawyers when they argued that hanging him (the only method of execution in the state at the time) would result in decapitation, and was thus cruel and unusual punishment. Washington has since added lethal injection to its repetoire of methods to execute deat...

Ted Matthews (aka Tim Kaine) did indeed promise to ease the tax burden in his run for Governor.  Albeit he did it in the poorest part of the state.  But then, after a billion (a lot for one state, except for maybe California) dollar tax increase and a Billion dollar surplus, we figured, hey!  Finish the car tax repeal! But nope!  ole Ted Matthews has decided we need another 4 billion dollar tax increase!  On top of the surplus!  What a moron! Terpfan wrote an ...

Two days ago I wrote a short article on the justification of the NSA spying.  In it, I quoted the head of the Justice Department's Office of Legal Council on why it is legal and indeed can be found in the constitution.  http://drguy.joeuser.com/index.asp?aid=100141 I purposefully did not name him, or challenge anyone to name him.  I was hoping that people would jump first and think second.  I was not disappointed.  I will name him now.  His name is Walter Delli...

Most of the people on JU that partake of the political forum have very strong views and express them from their side of the political spectrum.  And I appreciate that.  There is no mistaking when you read an article, the slant of it (once you have been around for awhile).  Similarly, if you go to Moveon.org or RushLimbaugh.com, you know what you are getting.  Neither pretends to be a news outlet, all are slanted to the left or right.  If you want the unbiased news, go to...

Today we had a major server meltdown.  Not just any server, THE DHCP server.  This single point of failure was designed by my supposed superior (in his mind).  It was a hardware failure that I warned about 7 months ago.  But would my little pissant boss listen to me?   Dont make me laugh. But due to some due dilligence on my part (and wholly unauthorized, so I will be written up for it), we were back in Business in less than an hour, with just the clean up taking...

I think JU needs to do one of those holograms for creating accounts.  I counted almost a dozen new accounts that are all BuyDRUGX, and all selling some drug or another.  They may be legal, but do we need it? What next, a dozen selling "male enhancement" "all natural" stuff? Boo on the spammers!  Go spam our mailboxes and stay off JU!

The Philadelphia Inquirer, believed to be the first American news Paper to do so, printed the Mohammed Cartoons over the weekend.  And 2 dozen Muslims came out to protest and demand an apology. They did not torch buildings, overturn cars, kill people or wound anyone.  They demonstrated and demanded an apology.  We will see if one is forthcoming.  If not, we will see their next move.  They promise a boycott!  More power to them!  And while I will not join the...

Fred Hiatt, described as the Editorial Page Editor had this to say in response to the Mohammed Cartoons: "If I were faced with something that I know is gonna be offensive to many of our readers, I would think twice about whether the benefit of publication outweighed the offense it might give," Do we have to bring up Piss Christ or Poop Madonna again?  Nope.  Here is what he had to say on the Cartoon of the Quaddriplegic soldier: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content...

The head of the Justice Department's Office of Legal Council Stated the following to justifying gathering intelligence: "The President has enhanced responsibility to resist unconstitutional provisions that encroach upon the constitutional powers of the Presidency" I think that takes care of whether the spying was legal or not.  Or are there some constitutional scholars that want to argue with the Lawyers Lawyer?
