Yes, Joe User loves a train wreck.  They want to see the death and destruction a good fight brings.  And it has been awhile since we really had a good one (Dabe left almost a year ago, but boy could she spew the 4 letter invectives!).  So with no obvious target, our mistress of mayhem, the queen of the misquote and misunderstanding (I will give her the benefit of the doubt of out right lying) decided to tackle someone else.  As she lamented, there were no liberals left to...

"US Says Still Searching for Mideast Peace Plan"--headline, Reuters, July 21 Might want to check the Rose Law Firm Records. "UN to Hold 'Beauty Contest' to Pick New Secretary General"--headline, Independent (London), July 21 May not be any more effective than Kofi, but at least she will be better to look at. "Neenah Police Look to End Public Urination"--headline, Oshkosh (Wis.) Northwestern, July 20 They should have called the plumber before it got to that. "Woodpecker ...

I was struck by a statement my wife made this weekend.  As some of you know, her friend from Dallas flew in for Lunch (that is another blog).  She is also Hispanic, but very well assimilated.  So much so, she does not speak Spanish!  So my wife is trying to teach her. They were listening to a song this weekend and trying to translate it.  But the singer was not Mexican or south of this (USA) border.  They were Spanish and singing in Castillan (sp).  And it w...

For many years now, the US has not drilled off any coast, nor built a refinery.  Yet the population grows and the demand soars.  We are being held captive by a few environmental whackos.  Pure and simple. So how far off the coast is far enough?  I saw one that said 225 miles.  But how far does an oil slick spread?  How many oil slicks did Wilma, Rita and Katrina cause?  They sure ripped apart a couple of states, but those still wondering, zero. So how far...

Here in Virginia, we have had a real brouhaha of a case.  A 16 year old boy who has cancer, who has undergone Chemo already, does not want to do it again.  His parents support him.  He has tried alternative and experimental treatments in Mexico, and thinks they are helping him more. But a lower court judge thought not!  And (this one is for the Gideon), ordered Joint custody with the Department of Social Services!  Why?  Because his parents did not force him to t...

Let it be known.  I dont like Robert Wexler.  I think he is a complete toady of the loony left.  Let it be known. But I saw the clips of his Stephen Colbert show, and you know what?  I would like to have a beer with him!  I still dont like him, but I do admire his willingness to once in awhile say "what the hell", and have fun!  IN this instance he gets 2 thumbs up from me! But not from some unfortunately, and many of them on the left.  SO what is all thi...

His name is Mathew.  He is now 7 years old.  The irony is that I have another nephew on my wife's side that is also named Matthew.  He is also 7 years old (they are a month apart in age). But that is just one of those strange things. My sister's son has Down's syndrome.  He is not retarded.  That is an outdated term.  You know how PC goes. It was in vogue 40 years ago, but not now.  Now they are 'differently abled'.  And I hate PC!  But in some...

Airlines are weird!  Most of them (the US carriers) are treading quicksand, and chopping salaries and benefits.  Being pinched from the 9-11 shutdown and high fuel prices.  But some things never change. My Wife is friends with this lady in Dallas (my wife lived there before we met and married).  She works for a major Airline (name to be withheld - but some may guess it).  Anyway, once a year (she is a dispatcher BTW), she is required to jump seat a 5 hour trip (at lea...

If not, you may want to. Up until a month ago, Fred was an obscure Richmonder.  He had some friends, a couple of sons, was married for 37 years, and then fate caught up with him and he died in an auto accident.  Not the stuff fame is made of, right? Normally that would be true.  But Fred had a sense of humor on him.  One that even death could not stop!  For you See Fred wrote his own Obituary.  And it was published in the local rag.  It begins: Frede...

By a fellow blogger that my manners are lacking.  I forgot to welcome back the local racist.  When she decided to quit posting under another name and post under her old one after she trashed Brad. Well, I guess I did!  I forgot to welcome her back!  Or maybe I don't like cowards posting under pseudonyms.  Who say they are leaving and then return. "Oh, some one asked me to!".  Yup!  Mean what you say and say what you mean. Or just use every excuse in t...
