In what can only be hoped is a sucessful implementation of the recent Supreme court ruling o Eminent Domain, a Developer is asking the city council of Weare, New Hampshire to take by right of eminent domain, Justice Souter's home and sell it to him so he can build a hotel! By all rights and logic used by the connecticut town to grab some poor schmucks homes, and then endorsed by the SCOTUS, this developer is seeking the same! One would hope that the other 4 justices also learn the val...

"a pretty monolithic party. They all behave the same. They all look the same. It's pretty much a white Christian party."  - Howard Dean Sounds like a pretty bigotted statement to me.  Substitute Pary for Race and Black for white, and it could be Sen Byrd. "I want a Democratic presidential candidate who can give a straight, unambiguous answer on Iraq." - Arianna Huffington So do the rest of us. “This group of neocons (neoconservatives) is involved in the mother of all s...

And you thought it was over!  So did I.  But the residents of the 37th senatorial district of Kentucky would beg to differ.  It seems that the person who got the most votes last November, might not have been a legal resident, so a judge tossed her victory out. But wait a minute!  The State Constitution says that an after the fact controversy on a victor, the Senate would decide who is the victor.  SO the republican Senate booted the loser and re-installed the victor. ...

The Supreme court ruled on 2 displays of the 10 commandments.  In one, they ruled that they could not be displayed in courthouses, except their own (as there is one on the Supreme Court).  In the other, they ruled the 10 commandments can be displayed on Government property. For most rational thinking people, this clearly is a set of decisions that cannot easily be explained.   And it goes to show how some just cant make up their mind on the legality of religious symbols in...

Much has been written of one of the worst decisions to be handed down by the US Supreme Court since Dred Scott.  Indeed, it appears that most people, Liberals and conservatives alike, are decrying the decision as just plain wrong and bad.  And those that are not decrying it usually fail to grasp the ramifications of the decision. The decision basically means if you can buy a governing body (pick a small one so you do not have to spend much money), you can have anyone's land you desi...

"Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers, Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war." "Conservatives saw what happened to us on 9/11 and said we will defeat our enemies. Liberals saw what happened to us and said we must understand our enemies." Both quotes are from the same source.  A biased one at that, but even biased people can speak the truth.

In the latest whackery from howlin Howie, he now thinks that Dick Durbin is a real big supporter of the troops! "A man who is willing to stand by our troops, a man who has fought for all that is right about America, Senator Dick Durbin, we thank you very much," Is Dean from this planet?  Or does he mean by this statement that calling our troops Nazis and stalinists is standing by them?  What country does he think we are in, 1930s Germany, or 40s Russia? The man with no bra...

Rep. John Hostettler said the following: "Like a moth to a flame, Democrats can't help themselves when it comes to denigrating and demonizing Christians," Democrats called for his censure.  Yet he was only speaking the truth for was it not the democrat leader who said: "There's something the matter with that. And Republicans, I guess, can do that because a lot of them have never made an honest living in their lives." "They pretty much, they all behave the same and they all ...

Robert "Sheets" Byrd just came out with a sort of autobiography recently.  In it, he tries to down play his participation in the KKK with pap such as the following: Byrd says he viewed the Klan as a useful platform from which to launch his political career. He described it essentially as a fraternal group of elites--doctors, lawyers, clergy, judges and other "upstanding people" who at no time engaged in or preached violence against blacks, Jews or Catholics, who historically were targe...

"Watching a Howard Dean speech is a little like people who go to a NASCAR race to see a crash," Ed Gillespie, a former Republican Party chairman, told the same reporter. And not a single reference to communist, Nazi's, Pol Pot, Gulags or Concentration camps! It seems some people have a greater grasp of the english language than others.

In another example of the stupidity of the democrats and their use of the filibuster to thwart the will of the majority, a little side note was recently brought up concerning Janice Rogers Brown.  You see she was originally nominated in 2003, and came up for a vote the first time on November 14, 2003.  It was of course Filibustered. Now for the shot heard round foot, does anyone know who was governor of California on November 14, 2003?  And who would have appointed her replacem...

Recently we had an article comparing Nazis to Bush.  That is nothing new.  This one was only new in that it was from a non-american (as in they are not of America, not that they were unpatriotic). But it was the same old tripe and the only purpose it served was to cheapen the holocaust.  The quote he provided was so generic that I dare say that virtually every citizen of this planet that is trying to convince another of their viewpoint is guilty of it. And so it was just ano...

In what can only be described as a squirmin Durbin, Dick the dick head Durbin is trying to say that he was only reading from an FBI memo. Problem is, the memo he quoted from has nothing of what he said, and indeed nothing of what he alleged. No reference to Pol Pot, No reference to Stalin, no Reference to Hitler. But he made them. And now he is trying to squirmin his way out of his recorded (Note for the Bloggers: not a blog recorded) statements. And therein lies the problem.  H...

The Senate just confirmed 3 of the 10 filibustered nominees.  One in particular was interesting,  it was Bill Pryor and it was very close.  53-45. Now the interesting thing is that 3 republicans voted against him! (Rhode Island's Lincoln Chafee and Maine's Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe).  So if they democrats had allowed his vote prior to 04 when they picked up 4 seats, the vote could very easily have been (since it was 51 R and 48D with 1 Turncoat), 48-52! (all three li...

Dean says: "Republicans never made an honest living in their lives," described the Republican Party as ''pretty much a white, Christian party," and declared that House majority leader Tom DeLay of Texas, who is facing ethics questions but has not been charged with any crime, ought to go back to Houston where he can serve his jail sentence. Senator Orin Hatch, a Republican says: ''This is racial demagoguery, pure and simple, done by the chairman of the national Democratic Party. ...
