I dont think anyone would argue with the fact that America has the most technologically advanced military on this planet.    The destruction of the Iraqi military was but a small demonstration of how advanced weapons have come, and how accurate they now are.  But in all these bombs with eyes on them, and shells with computers in them, one thing stands out as the most innovative defensive weapon in this man's army..................................Silly String! I kid yo...

One of our fellow bloggers asked the question "Where's the Whining?" in refernce to where was all the whining about the election that had occurred after the 2k, 2k2, and 2k4 elections.  Instead, within a couple of days, most of the close races that had democrats winning, the republicans graciuously conceded without putting up a fight and whining  about life being unfair.  Indeed, the last 2 senate races that got called were eligible for recounts, but neither of the losing senators...

What most of us knew (or strongly suspected), and at least the elected democrats realize, the democrats are not going to cut and run.  Headline: " Democrats Say They Won't Limit Iraq Funding". So while the conservatives that knew November 7th was the death knell of GIs (Right Rush?), the level headed folks among us just smiled!  Knowing that while that was not a campaign promise, it was a bone to their kook wing.  And they just pissed off their kooks. Ya know, maybe the demo...

Well, our new illustrious leaders have not even taken power yet, but they have managed to beat old Ted Matthews (Tim Kaine's) record for broken promises!  This time taking -37 days to break not one, but 2 promises (at least one member has done 2).  The ignoble record holder for breaking 2 promises is none other than Lt. Dan - aka Jim "Don't talk to me!" Webb.  This record is tied by Nancy Pelosi, and soon to be met by others I am sure. First we have Nancy Pelosi who reneged on ...

Our newly selected senator from the not so great state of Virginia, has decided that war is better than peace. At a social at the White house for newly elected 'representatives' (and I use that term lightly), George Bush sought out Jim Webb, the FIRED Sec of the navy (it appears with good reason) during Reagan's administration, to ask about his son. Webb's response?  FO!  Well, he was not that ribald (how I don't know, his social skills are on the level of alley oop).  But the ...

In a rare display of a clear, non-prejudicial statement, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, on the forefront of the "Kramer" controversy, is calling upon all people, not just whites, to stop using the "n" word.  In that, he is entirely correct, and I started to stand and cheer as he raced down the sidelines to what seemed to be a sure winning touchdown. But like the buffoon he is, Jackson forgot to score before celebrating, and instead spiked the ball on the one yard line with his other comment...

You know what is crap?  The NFL!  How many rules have been made by a single team?  How many times has one team been the originator of a rule?  How many times do we have to listen to the clowns explain to us how this is a new rule? Simply put?  The NFL hates Al Davis!  And in that, they are a joke!  I have loved the NFL.  I have lived the NFL.  But their prejudice is so apparent, that I cannot support the NFL.  They are a Freakin joke.  A ...

I peaked out of my hiding place.  Left, right.  No sight of THEM!  Those accursed creatures that God had somehow decided to curse the people of this planet with.  How long?  How very long? Yet we had survived their onslaught and still we thrived!  But with fear and trepidation. Slowly I edged out of my hiding place. Sniffing the air.  They always left a fowl stench.  And it was indeed there.  Pungent and nasty.  But also faint.  They...

He awoke to another cloudless day.  The sun had not yet come up, but the sky was crystal clear.  It seemed all the days were cloudless.  At least in nature. But this day was not like the others.  This was THE day.  The day he had long feared would come, and today it had. Sighing, he began his morning ritual.  First a shower, shave, then donning of his uniform.  The others were not stirring, but there was little doubt that many were still sleeping.  F...
