Liberals are predictable. For many years, following 9/11 we heard how we had given up our rights by passing the Patriot Act. Even though it was tailored to apply to non-citizens. Even though it was passed by a bi-partisan congress (Democrats controlled the Senate). Even though a solid majority democrat government (filibuster proof senate, large house majority, liberal democrat president) renewed it. Liberals still wail and cry about how Bush was the usurper of rights!&...
In a surprise move, the clowns at MSNBC indefinitely suspended the master of Hate, Keith Olbermann. The reason was for violating their ethics policy (oxymoron alert - Media and ethics) by donating to democrat candidates. The interesting part is they did not suspend him until AFTER the election. But then I guess that just punctuates the oxymoron referred to earlier.
I recently returned from a cruise. It was my first one, and it did not end until the day after the election. So on election night, I was limited in knowing what was going on (and I was not going to spend a lot of time watching the returns as I was on a cruise!). The only station that was available was CNN (that any was available on a ship at sea is kind of stunning to me). And the election night coverage was terrible! For any that missed it, it was a constant apology a...
"People out there are still hurting very badly, and they are still scared. And so part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now, and facts and science and argument does not seem to be winning the day all the time, is because we're hard-wired not to always think clearly when we're scared." - Barack Obama Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, along comes Jaws II - The reincarnation of Jimmy Carter! Yes, Barack Hussein Obama has outdone the old peanut ...
Many now know of the kerfuffle in California with Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown calling Meg Whitman a whore. The comment was a bit amusing, and totally uncalled for given the nature of all politicians. But at least one would have expected an organization, whose mission is to ensure women a level playing field, to object to the use of word meant to demean a woman of accomplishment. The implication of the word of course is that a woman cannot do anything without sleeping her way to powe...
The Global Warming wackos are getting desperate. The latest - which you will not hear about in any of the "non-biased" media - is from England where teachers, bosses, and studio producers are blowing up people that have not swallowed the Global Warming kool-aid (why should the sheep be the only ones that die? Blow up those not taken in by the hysteria so no one will be left). Reportedly (as in they made their point so they do not give a damn now), the 1010 organization has pulled ...
Much has been made of Bush's war on terrorism, mostly by democrats. They accuse him of a bigotry so far not supported by facts, and that charge has been picked up and used by Muslim countries around the world. Yet it was Bush on 9-14-01 that went out of his way to specifically say we were at war with terrorism, and not Muslims. But what about democrats faced with similar situations? Looking back at the last war that consumed the nation, Vietnam, Kennedy did not lock up the V...
I recently wrote an article in praise of Verizon FIOS. I noted in the comments that I had heard Verizon had stopped expansion of the project and wondered why. A commenter said the reason was that Verizon was waiting for government money (another needless bailout). In that I cannot blame them. Free money (i.e. not yours) is an opiate for any company (and most individuals). But his explanation reminded me of another government program that has long outlived its usefulness a...
I was researching the Shore Bank of Chicago for an aunt of mine recently (there appears to be a potential scandal there) because she no longer trusts Snopes for getting to the truth about anything Obama (indeed, if you search for any Obama story that may be true or is true, you do not find it at Snopes, but you do find it at Truth or Fiction). As I was checking out an email she had been sent (the always circulating ones that we all get from our relatives and friends), my wife asked me w...
Well...I would not go that far (and I do not think he would either). But after this past weekend, US Snooze and World Report did a survey and found he was a better orator than the messiah! Yep! he got over 2/3rds the votes to Obama's 1/3rd. But then Beck said more things of substance in 1 day than Obama has in 6 years.
George Orwell was a very insightful man. Who had a gift of taking complex or confusing rhetoric and boiling it down to the bare essentials so that even the most obtuse of us could understand it. Or maybe not. He wrote 2 novels about the evils of government, 1984 and my favorite, Animal Farm. The quick and dirty of Animal Farm is that the animals on a farm revolt against the farmer and take over. At first, there is an egalitarian type of society formed, but very soon, t...
I have to wonder if there is anything that has, will or will not happen that is not Bush 43's fault. We are told DAILY that all the bad in the world is Bush's fault. From Obama down to the lowliest criminal, all actions that are bad, all events that are bad, all mishaps, misunderstandings, or misqueues are Bush's fault. The latest is more of the same. Maxine Waters, caught with her hand in the cookie jar, is blaming Bush for her crimes! I am sure Bush is also responsib...
We had a red letter day on August 2, 2010. But not one that many will celebrate as the damage done to people, and this country is not something that will be celebrated by true Americans. First up, we do have a celebration. The Commonwealth of Virginia just locked arms with the State of Arizona in standing up for its citizens. Something the federal government refuses to do, and indeed as will be shown, has decided that the rights of citizens are secondary to the new world o...
Another example of lack of character, albeit less surprising, comes from a member of the press. Sarah Spitz, a member of JournoList, had an orgasm of glee when thinking about Rush Limbaugh having a heart attack and declaring, unequivocally, how she would not do a thing to help him, just jump for joy. Like the other cockroaches of the Journolist, her revelation was found out and outed. Today, she issued a clarification: I made poorly considered remarks about Rush Limbaugh to w...
For years, liberal bloggers, bereft of any substantive arguments, have tried to use a source to show others that their thinking was wrong, and that their sources were bogus. That source was Media Matters. A supposed unbiased watchdog of the Media that would tell us when someone was lying, obfuscating or distorting. They swore by their new found god to discredit the arguments they could not debate. And for good reason did these liberal bloggers love Media Matters. For m...
