Amazing the difference a boss makes!  I did not realize how empty was my work spirit until "The Captain" left and I was on my own.  And given the lack of communication, I had a lot of catching up to do on the 'black hole' areas.  Those I was not allowed to administer, even though it was part of my job (leave that to the Wormtongue that left before the captain). In the last 2 weeks we have done more, and fixed more than in the previous 6 months (ok, that might be a slight exager...

Yea, it has happened.  My former troll has decided I am the lesser of 2 weevils.  And he has told his old boss, yea, I am OK.  So now, instead of a regular job (with occasional OT), I am on call!  Why?  Because they want me to take over for the troll! I am going to have to think long and hard on this.  Right now, I like my job.  But I don't like being called on my off time.  They are not paying me enough for that. We will see.  Why cant the trol...

Yea, I am just smiling and laughing.  And with tutoring, not a lot of time to blog.  But just wanted to say hi to everyone (especially the Masons, Dyna and Mason). My wife is swamped!  The other PL is out for the next 2 months!  SO I am tutoring her student!  I am a lousy tutor! But we are managing to survive! I am not a merry man (Worf)! But I will survive to Tutor! Damn that is hard! later!

Yea, my articles and time on JU has been curtailed.  For the first time since I joined, I am actually able to do my job without 'The Captain' or his Grima doing the finger pointing game!  So each day I work a hard day (sometimes 12 hours now), and I love it! I would love to say that I have gotten more accomplished in the last week, than in the preceding 3 years, but that would be an exaggeration.  Not a big one!  Not by much. Since his departure, I have managed to gain ...

I love the idea.  But I question the implementation.  But actually, this is not really about that, but about my one experience. Yes, with My aunt!  I used up all the minutes on my cell phone (free long distance) but she is up and running and again on the net, and now protected not only by Zone Alarm but by a hardware Gateway/Router!  But what a chore!  I know Florida has easier winters, but I sure could have used a pair of (knowledgeable) hands down there!  As it...

Scams.  Some are clearly illegal (the Nigerian money one and its derivatives) and others are only marginally legal.  Today we talk about the marginally legal ones. There are 2 types.  One promises a free 30 day sample (Enzyte), but you have to buy a 30 day sample.  And as they are selling you sugar pills, they make money from day one.  hell, they can send you a year free!  If you pay for a year, and they still make money!  And they share one thing in common ...

Ok, yesterday, I posed a question for old (excuse me, mature) folks about women and do you remember.  Some on their way to Adulthood (ok!  You can be adults!), chimed in as well.  But this question is for everyone.  Us old (mature geezers) and the New Adults (how is that for PC?). How much math can you do in your head?  Without benefit of a calculator (for the ones that never saw the series "Dukes of Hazzard", 'cack-a-lator' was what Boss Hogg called a calculator). ...

A friend sent me this list.  And I realized, I am old! (shaddup San chonino! ) I grew up with these ladies, and yes they were hot to me!  How many do you remember as that heart throb as a male adolescent (females are welcome to provide male lists, I just never got into the male side. hehehee) Brigette Bardot 71 Stella Stevens 68 Sophia Loren 71 Gina Lollobrigida 78 Deborah Kerr 94 Lena Horne 88 Kay Starr 83 Patti Page 78 Annette Funic...

Most know that my wife is a paralegal.  And I a network Jock.  But I work downtown, and she in a safer climate, so that on occassion, she asks me to take things to the court house.  Not a problem.  I have been doing it for about 3 years now, and the US Marshalls (no none of them are Tommy Lee Jones) know me by sight now, and wave me through.  I always leave my cell phones at the office as I know they are verbotten. Today was a little different.  It was an Adversa...

Happy feet! I've got those hap-hap-happy feet! Give them a low-down beat And they begin dancing! I've got those ten little tip-tap-tapping toes, When they hear a tune I can't control the dancing, dear, To save my soul! Those weary blues can't get into my shoes, Because my shoes refuse To ever grow weary. I keep cheerful on an earful Of music sweet; Just got those hap-hap-happy feet! By Cab Calloway Yep!  I got happy Feet! Ok, how many have seen the film ...

Ernesto is now moving out.  We are still getting rain, and the sump pump is going like a bat out of hell!  But we were spared the worst (Tidewater caught the worst of it).  Still, with over 300k without power and I would estimate (my bucket measure) about 6 inches of rain, he was no friend of ours! The rain is slacking off, but the wind is going gungho!  It seems he is running into a high pressure ridge, so the gradient means we are getting a lot of wind.  That, along...

Yes, worlds.  Not like earth and Mars.  But when the worlds of earth collide.  And what are those worlds? Perception and Reality. You see, we don't live in reality.  That is the real world.  We live in perception.  What we perceive. To give you an example.  Many on the left think that Bush stole the election in 2000.  That is their perception.  And no amount of facts, recounts (both before and after the decision) will change their mind.  To...

We all know about Groupies.  Those are the ones that glom onto bands and follow them to every gig.  It is not enough that they hear the band, they have to foillow them.  I have never understood them.  Yea, I like some bands.  Some to the point that I do follow their road tours. From home.  But I dont follow them like the dead heads do. I can watch them, and listen to them, but I will never understand them.  For some reason, they have an unnatural obsesssion ...

Recently, a couple of the bloggers on JU have opined about the "Peyton Place" nature of JU.  Indeed, recently we have had many Drama Queens, Divas, macho blogs and drug addicts posting here.  And while some had some thoughts of wisdom, most were just antagonistic and a waste of electrons. But that is what makes a community.  Think about it.  We have drama queens (or the chronic complainers I guess in real life), the Hoity Toity, and the Macho men in our neighborhoods, righ...

Yea, the spirit of Elie has gripped me!  But it was the response of Gerlyne that prompted me. In a recent article, I noted the epiphany of Lanny Davis.  But then I went off on a rant tangent,  And in so doing lost the message of the intent of the blog.  And try as I might, I could not bring the respondants back on topic. And that was my fault for the tangent. So I want to say to Kingbee, and Davad, sorry.  It was not my intent to tar all of you with the brush that ...
