Idiocy from the heartland
Published on August 9, 2005 By Dr Guy In Current Events

In what can only be described as stupidity, the Denver public LIbrary has decided to make 7 branches 'Hables Espaniol'.  They are banishing english books to the back rooms and going with a spanish motif.

While this may seem like a 'feel good' policy, in actual fact it is just another attempt to keep a minority down.  It is stupidity at its worse.

There is nothing wrong with speaking spanish.  Indeed, I speak a very little and my wife is also fluent in it.  But if Spanish is the only thing you are going to speak, you are not going to get very far in the USA.  Mexico?  Sure!  You can become president there, but not in the USA.  By coddling spanish only speakers, these denizens of dunce have decided that apparently America does not have enough janitors and yard workers, so we must cultivate a permanent underclass.  One that will be happy with their low standard of living and never aspire to better themselves in this country.

For that is what they are doing. It is another example of a PCism that I am sure is being done for all the right reasons, but the effect is to create a permanent low income group of people.  And that is by far worse than any 'feel goodism' that can come of this idiotic attempt.

So chalk another one up for the ignoramuses that poo-poo the citizens trying to make the official language of the US, english (one of only a handful of countries in the world that does not have an official language by the way).  No, those who look to raise all the boats instead of lower the water are just a bunch of small minded jingoistic racists who would deny every culture their right to live in isolation and poverty in the richest country in the world.

Losers is now spelled Denver Public Libraries.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 3 /U.S. Newswire/ -- In a sharp break from American tradition, the Denver Public Library is promoting a plan that would make seven of its branches "Spanish focused," banishing English language books to the backroom.

Don't read to well do you?

considering the fact that the denver public library didn't issue that statement, i'd say you're the one with the reading problem.

This is a VERY typical liberal answer. You ask for proof, proof is given. You don't like the answer in given proof so you either bash the replier or dismiss the proof as false.

No I did respond to your #27.  You still are avoiding the issue and have been since before 27.  27 is an excuse, not a response.

Yeah he read it and just as quickly dismissed it. He says it's because no one from the library said it.

and guess what? there will also be english language materials because they're not being 'banned' nor put in the basement as you proclaim (did that come to you in a dream or did you just pull it outta your ass?).

The library said backroom.

You know we have a problem here kb. The "only" one that has EVEN mentioned this is YOU! Nowhere is it shown that ANYONE even mentioned banned or basement. Only YOUR twisted mind came up with that. And just why should we have to prove that YOUR statement is false?

I just don't like the idea of a spanish only library, but I don't like being required to take 2 years of spanish to be able to attend college either. I learned all the spanish I needed from Big Bird and his freinds. Ok, so I failed spanish class anyway.

One think I found facinating at the Garage Sale I did a few months back was that my sisters Hispanic nieghbors came over and litterally dived into the religious books we were selling from my grandma's estate. They bought around 20 of the books, telling me that they read them out loud as a family to better their english, and their religion. I was really impressed, there are 3 generations living in their home, and all of them have learned english.

My sister has 2 hispanic families living close to her, all of them speak great english (exept when they called her "white devil", she, the nieghbor, didn't know that my sister is fluent in spanish *L*), Their kids are always playing together at my sisters house.

I don't understand the need for a spanish only library, unless they decide to build a library for each different language spoken. So if there is a spanish library, when do I get a German library? Considering I'm also English and Irish, which both are English speaking, I couldn't ask for those. How about one for Souix and other Native American Languages? Languages of Africa maybe? Where is the French library? So what if most Canadians speak english, maybe they want a French library when they are here!

SHeeze, all that sarcasm just tired me out..

They are really what makes America great!  They may have come over from another country, but with that attitude, they are truly becoming American.
