The school district knows they have a disaster on their hands. As a UCLA lawyer pointed out, the school district itself says there was no violation by the students,  Again, it was just a couple of left morons that do now know when the Mexican independence day is, and instead of using the situation as a teaching moment to do what they are actually paid to do - educate children - they blew it big time.  They are lucky they were not fired on the spot for gross ignorance and malfeasance.

School sure has changed since I was a kid!  We had a "lunch" break.  But perhaps that is too english for this school?

No, in that case, the lawless thugs have won, and there is no point in any freedoms.  Sorry, that is just wrong on so many levels.  We cannot, should not, and must not allow the thugs to dictate what we can lawfully do, especially not in a supposed government run institution.  Period.

Another great point.  Her wearing a Mexican flag is her 1st amendment right.  Her not getting an education on what a Mexican Holiday is, is just gross incompetence and malfeasance on the part of the people that are being paid to educate her.

I doubt there would have been any further incidence if the idiot administrators had not made it an issue.  It seemed the students got through half the day with no incidences, and most of the students did not even attach any significance to either the wearing of the flags or the non-holiday of the date.  But the idiots in charge sure made a huge mess out of it.  I think the city should bill the idiots for the cost of the police escort for those 200 illiterate students march.

Was the school flying the US flag on Cinco de Mayo?  If not, they were in violation of the law.  If so, how do they justify harrassing these kids?

To further clarify what I meant on my original comment, namely the part: "It happens all the time..."  

What I meant is that school administration, or teachers overreacting is a common thing from what I have seen, and, it isn't limited to areas that are liberal - it can, and has happened in conservative areas. 

Anyways, like I said, my comments were intended to poke fun at what you said.

Don't you know it is only racism when you assume that people are all equally capable and don't need special privileges or handouts to succeed.

The only way to NOT be a racist is to assume that all non whites are somehow "lesser races" who REQUIRE government instituted discrimination on their behalf to even the odds. Or require "special understanding" of their "completely justified cultural violence" that would never be tolerable if done by a white person.

Nothing is more racist or offensive then the ideas of the left. As they presume to segregate human beings from equal into the chosen race (Caucasians) and the lesser races (everyone else). Its like they have some sort of messed up notion of "white man's burden"... Keep your hand-outs liberals, we don't need them.

That being said, as a Hebrew (the race of Jews) I am not high up on their priority of "races in need of help". If only us Hebrews had a culture that was more violent and less prone to success... (When I was 12 I didn't get a birds and bees talk, I got a "as a Jew you are expected to grow up to be a lawyer, accountant, or a doctor" talk at about that age though).

When I look at people I don't see a race, I see people. individuals in charge of their own life and destiny who can become anything they are willing to work towards. But that is not what a liberal sees. And that apparently makes me a bigot.

PS. Anyone else notice the part where the mom of one of the kids who wore the american flag said her son is part Hispanic himself and proud to be an america? (from looks I'd say its from her side).

You've got to commend their efforts (even if you disagree with their policies) that they have done an excellent job of cloaking their intentions from the 1960's on to the present. It's no small feat to have the people you've oppressed or marginalized for generations, support your cause in such high numbers.

If you don't respect the rights of students to wear t-shirts with US Flags at school, I challenge your respect for rights in the first place... I also question your intelligence and wonder how you breath without having to concentrate on it.

It seems people will believe a lot when it comes with "free stuff". It also helps when you control the schools... I was actually "taught" in history of the political parties from the dawn of the USA. Had to learn the "changes" (aka, how the whigs fell, etc)... one of said changes was the "flip" where the democrats and republicans somehow swapped their views and composition and all the racists left the party responsible for jim crowley laws and promoting slavery to become republicans, and all the anti slavery pro freedom and equality left the republicans to become democrats...

I also learned that texas has the "worst" government in the USA, that the USA is responsible for numerous war crimes over the years. That the USA is an evil expansionist empire. That vietnam was an "evil war" for the USA where the USA supported a brutal dictatorship that included legalized rape, murder and torture against the "party of the people" and so on...

Talk about the ignorance of the left, how can anyone, right or left, who believes that Obama canceled the National Day of Prayer claim to be intelligent?  He did not.  Incidentally, the National Day of Prayer has not traditionally been observed in the White House historically as per the implication of whoever it was who perpetrated the lie that Obama had canceed it; he just went back to tradition and set the observance someplace other than the White House!!!
