Too Stupid to Breath
Published on May 6, 2010 By Dr Guy In Politics

The level of stupidity on the left in this country continues to amaze me.  The latest incident in their quest to subvert the laws, culture and citizens of the US comes to us from California, where 5 children were sent home from school.  Their crime?  They wore the American flag on outerwear.

That is it!  You can burn the flag, use it to wipe your behind with, stamp on it, spit on it or piss on it.  But in Left America, you cannot wear it.  At least not on a holiday created by an alcohol company!

You see the gotcha here was that they wore it on May 5, or as it is known south of the Border - Cinco de Mayo.  But those south of the border do not even celebrate the day as a holiday!  And contrary to ignorant liberals, it is not their independence day.

For sure it is a memorable day (akin to the US celebrating the Battle of New Orleans in 1814/5). A small band of militia defeated the French Army at the Battle of Puebla (but then who has not beat the French?).

So on this non-day (except for an excuse to drink alcohol - a good lesson to teach high school children, right?), these children were booted out of school for wearing the AMERICAN flag in AMERICA.  Thanks be to all liberal idiots.

I love to hoist a few cervezas now and then.  And I sure do like Corona (although many from south of the border will tell you that is not a good beer).  But I am not going to do it at a school, nor am I going to advocate doing it at a secondary school. But Liberals think you must.  At least to the exclusion of doing anything inflammatory like wearing an American flag.

I would love for the whole world to celebrate July 4th.  It is a special time for the world as America lead the way in creating a new type of government.  One that is prevalent today in most of the world.  And I have no problem celebrating September 16 in honor of my wife and relatives and the struggle they went through mere decades after America to gain their own independence.  It was a noble endeavor on our friends and neighbors to the south.  But I am not going to penalize some one in Mexico for wearing their flag on their shirt on July 4th.

But then I have never been accused of being a liberal.

I really don't know about this situation, nor do I know about Cinco de Mayo.

But I do know that if a Canadian flag is waived around in any crowd during the 24th of June in Quebec, you'll get booed and thrown stuff at you.

But maybe it's a different circumstance, as I don't know what Cinco de Mayo is really about.

Hell, if you waive an American flag ANY DAY at a DNC convention, you will get booed!

But booing is one thing.  Penalties for doing it are another matter altogether.

Cinco De Mayo  is really a little battle in what became a continuing struggle of Mexico to assert its independence from Spain.  Spain started using some French mercenaries and one group got their butts kicked by the Mexican Militia (the French came back later in force and wiped out the village where the original victory had occurred).

Again, it is not a holiday in Mexico as like most countries, they do not celebrate every battle victory (most just celebrate the war victories).  So for the clowns at Live Oak HS to not only promote a racial stereotype, but to penalize people who do not fall for the ignorance is beyond malfeasance.  it clearly is stupid.

That's just plain wrong and unfair, you know that Guy. DNC are just as patriotic as you are, in their own way.

What is Mexico's national holiday? You know, the equivalent of the 4th of July, 1st of July, 24th of June or 14th of July?

(without looking up on the net, can you guess the nations of these?)

Come on Cikomyr, don't tell me you missed the at the end of that sentence? You know, this comment of yours could be considered "out of context".

Thank you for the interesting Canadian fact, but what is your opinion on the subject of this article? You claim to know little if anything about "Cinco De Mayo" but you have access to the Internet to find out. None the less lack of knowledge of "Cinco De Mayo" should not keep you from agreeing or disagreeing with the idea of kids being punished in some way for wearing the US flag in the US in a school that has no policy against it just because they wore it during a non-Mexican holiday not celebrated (only observed and enjoyed) in the US.

Chill dude!  Did you not see the smiley face?

I better know mexico's! My wife is of Mexican descent (her mother is from Guadalajara).  Sept 16.

France is July 14.  I do not know july 24 and July 1 is Canada and many others (although there is controversy since that is a grant day, not a day of declaration).

A gal here at work is from Mexico.  I asked her if SHE knew what Cinco De Mayo was about.  She didn't know and noted that they don't celebrate it in Mexico.

Much pomp and circumstance for something most don't even know anything about.

24th of JUNE! not July!

St-Jean-Baptiste, the French-Canadian (and Quebec's) national holiday!

Chill dude! Did you not see the smiley face

I did, but I still won't allow you to steer away from reasonable objectivity, Guy! You are better than that!

Some Hispanic kids at this particular California high school, were offended that the five choose to wear US Flag themed clothing. The Latino principal and vice principal took it upon themselves to defend Mexican honor. How dare these 5 insult Mexico. If we don't make amended they might stop sending illegals to such a mean place like the US.

Yes. Because the illegal alien crossing the border is the responsibility of the legally immigrated citizen of mexican ethnicity?

Don't be too hard on Cikomyr.  I figured he was having a rough time.  he has cut me a lot of slack in the past, and figured he was just tired from studying.

See?  I am tired too!  And I would not have known it even if I had read it right. But I will remember it now!

I did, but I still won't allow you to steer away from reasonable objectivity, Guy! You are better than that!

Damn!  My own Jimminy cricket!

YOu are quite right and they are very wrong!  instead of busting on the 5 children, they should have done their job and EDUCATED the ones offended on what IS REALLY Mexican Independence day.  So they lost on 2 counts.  Competency, and political correctness.

While the intent was noble (not wanting zealous fools to start fights with them), they get an F on outcome.

That said, come on Doc, you know this wasn't a left wing issue. Just some school administrator (aka teacher wannabe) being a douche. It happens all the time, even - god forbid - in areas where the schools and region is heavily conservative/right wing.

So I guess the level of ignorance on the Right is just as astonishing, eh?
