I am going to make him an offer he cant refuse

Ah yes!  The AFI (American Film Institute) listed the top 100 quotes from movies since the talkies started.  I find it hard to argue with number 1, and number 2 is a strong one as well.

Some of the others are not so easy.  And some people are clamoring that there was too many left off the list.

I am curious as to what your top 10 lines of all time would be.  Do you agree with the AFI list, or have your own?

Inquiring minds want to know!

My 10 are:

1. "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."
2. "What we've got here is failure to communicate."
3. "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!
4. "Badges? We ain't got no badges! We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinking badges!"
5. "Get your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!"
6. "Soylent Green is people!"
7. "Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!"
8.  "Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into!"
9. "There's two kinds of people, them goin' somewhere and them goin' nowhere. And's that what's true."
10. "May the Force be with you."

I didn't catch the whole show myself but I liked most of the top ten. I would have to say some one my personal favorites is from the movie Fight Club. It is:

If you could fight any historical figure who would it be?
Ghandi, I would fight Ghandi.
Ew...good answer.

I have never seen that movie, but that is a great quote!

That's a cool list. You have to see Fight Club it's a really good movie. My favorite quote from that movie is "Only after disaster can we be resurrected".

Guess I am the only one who has not seen that movie!

Somehow, that does not surprise me!

Gah, this would be tougher for me than the president's list by far. I could probably do a top 100 of quotes from Pulp Fiction alone...

One I have been attatched to lately is "The Dude abides." from The Big Lebowski. Kind of a zen thing, gets me through the day.

While I am not a celebrity lover, I do like a great movie, and there have been a lot more of them than Presidents.  It was tough.  I am sure I missed some that I would have put on the list simply because they were not on the 400 that the AFI distributed.
