Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.
How Hot is it?
Published on August 21, 2007 By Dr Guy In Blogging

Ok, it is pushing 120 here.  And we all know about the arguement of dry versus humid heat.  I am one of the ringleaders in that debate.  And recently we had 105 with humidity - it was worse than a sauna.

But I am here to tell you that high humidity has one advantage over real heat!  My feet!

I have hated shoes since I had to wear corrective ones as a child.  As the others ran and jumped in their keds (sorry kiddies, no Nikes then), I was forced to klod along with my stupid kookie shoes.  And so as I finally outgrew those corrective shoes, I desired no shoes!

105 with high humidity is nothing!  My feet laugh at you as I walk barefoot over the concrete and earth!  I laugh at the people drooping in the heat of that piddly temperature!

120 with no humidity did me in!  I could only walk on the pavement and dirt for a minute before my caloused souls cried "no Mas!".  My body said "go go go!".  My feet said "no no no!".  My feet won.

So to end the age old argument of dry heat versus humid heat.  if you like barefoot, humid heat is best!  As long as my dogs can breath, I dont need to!

Dont ya just hate global foot warming?

Right now, that is debatable.

Although I did see on Ice Truckers that one got it. I will stick with hot feet!

It's all about the money M, nothing more, brave and stupid at the same time.

It has been so hot here Doc you could cut the air with a knife! All I brethe today was hot air when I went outside then froze my ass off when I got back to my office!

It's been freezing up here. I got off the plane from mid 90's in FL and high 90's in VA to a very cool and quite breezy 63 on Saturday. I am now wearing a sweatshirt. It's just not right.

It feels too much like fall right now. It did warm up today but it was barely comfortable. I had practice tonight and froze until we started running. It's August for crying out loud. It was 34 this morning. Did you hear me? 34. So much for global warming. Not here anyways.

I'm not liking this much. I want to go back down to the Villages.

There's a line between brave and stupid. I'm pretty sure they're on the "S" side of that line.

Cutting the air is not a big deal.  Frying my feet is!

Be careful of what you say!  You can get mugged for that weather this time of year!

It's not the heat it's the humility.

In my experience, dry heat is MUCH more dangerous. It sucks the moisture out of you. When we lived in Pahrump, I would down 3-4 GALLONS of water and/or Gatorade per day and barely keep up!

It probably is, but then when you have enough water, best to have the dry kind and breath, than the humid kind and suffocate in open air.

Humidity is to heat what wind is to cold...When the wet bulb is up...it only FEELS like hell.
