Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

Last night, the citizens of 49 states were treated (?) to what Virginians have to look forward to for the next 4 years.  A bumbling, mumbling idiot that even Bush's harshest critics will acknowledge makes Bush look Statesman in comparison.  No less than 9 times did Tim (Tom) Kaine tell us there is a better way.  Yet he has been in office only a couple of weeks.  So what is his better way?

Well, for one thing, he has demonstrated that no tax increase is enough for Democrats.  After shoving a tax increase of $1 billion on us by his predecessor, the Commonwealth of Virginia immediately showed a guess what?  A Billion dollar budget surplus!  So did we get the tax increase back?  Anyone out there really that naive?

So now the state is running a very healthy surplus, but that is not enough for Kaine!  Now he is trying to ram another tax increase down our throats.  In all fairness, since the legislature is run by Republicans, he cannot do that alone (and one would hope they come to their senses this time).  We will see in the next month and a half.

So other than proposing another massive tax increase, what is Kaine's better way?  What has he done?

Well, he was councilman and mayor of Richmond Va.  A city known for his very high murder rate, rampant crime, and the worsts schools in the state! (Commonwealth).  And this did not happen since his tenure, it happened DURING his tenure.  So when he says better way, I guess he means he wants to ghettoize the rest of the nation, as one city is just not enough.  Too bad for Virginia.  At least the other 49 states can dismiss him and laugh at him.

It is ironic, but not surprising that the democrats would put him up to deliver the rebuttal, hoping that he could re-energize a party that has lost its way except for the Cindy Sheehans.    Only to get a buffoon that can not run a city, much less a state.  Unless you consider tax and spend (to no end) a way to run any political jurisdiction.

Last night we got a vision, and then the obligatory derision by Hillary and Company.  But at least a vision, whether you like it or not.  Then we were subjected to one of the 3 stooges.  Unfortunately, while the 3 stooges were funny, Tim (Tom) Kaine is anything but.

If he's truly a bumbling idiot as you claim, that cannot run a city or state...then what does that make everyone in VA who voted for him? I understand your discontent about the tax issue, but don't you think you should give him more than 2 weeks before you decide he can't run a state?

The good thing I can say - I didn't vote for him. So, does that make me a not-bumbling idiot ('cause I'm actually a VA resident ... that qualifies me for idiot automatically)?

Tim Khaine is best described as Mark Warner II - so y'all can see what you need to look forward to in 2 years. Mark Warner has not been very secretive about his desires to run for the Democratic nomination in 2008.

What does that make the people that voted for him?  Duped or stupid.  2 more weeks?  Hell, we have to give him almost 4 more years, but his history shows that he is a buffoon.  YOu dont have to wait to figure that one out.

Read up on Richmond Va if you want the low down on this low down.  It is not like it is a secret.

Not Best described, but how he got elected.  Warner is a schrewd politician and a sharp cookie.  Kaine is just an idiot.  The first indication was appointing Viola Baskerville to a position of responsibility.  Not like stacking the deck with your hometown cronies. Competance be damned.

A lot of people make the case that Bush was a buffoon in the past as well. Maybe he'll turn things around before all is said and done.

Ok Pollyanna!

We will see.  I just dont expect it to happen.

Pollyanna!

I had pretty similar feelings when Mitch Daniels (R) got elected Governot here in IN, although I still have a lot of negative feelings about him, he hasn't managed to screw things up too bad....yet!

I think the sources that would imply such about GWB are likely life long uninformed politicians. With GWB's education and his accomplishments in commercial business, including the ego deflating losses associated with his general partnership roll, he learned many valuable lessons which no doubt prepared him for his history making Presidency.

That's about all we can hope for Khaine over the next 4 years - that he doesn't screw it up too bad. Although, starting with proposing a tax increase after being in office less than a week? That's just plain screwed up. Especially when there's a major surplus in effect.

I just bestowed upon you an "insightful".... Thanks for further clarification.

Ugly and traditional Democrat. Raise taxes to spend more money for "services" (his big word last night). Spend all that's in the budget then raise taxes again without concern for down stream consequences. It would be interesting to know where his personal income has come from and or going to?

That's how California got into trouble some years back, a Democrat on a spending spree. It's taking years and wise wealthy yet moderate Republican making hard decisions to move us back in the right direction towards a healthy wealthy state economy.

Besides "better way" I did notice the invocation of GOD as many times as he could into his lackluster rebuttle.

You may be right.  However, he has not started out very well, and he was just swown in 2 weeks ago.

And not those sheltered in the Capitol all of their lives.  And the American people seem to agree with you since the last sitting senator to be elected was JFK.

I wonder how many democrats think that?  Or are they thinking we just need to open our wallets and turn it all over to the GA?

That happened to us about 20 years ago.  And it took a damn good governor (2 of them actually - but one was a republican) - who himself was a democrat - to clean it up!  Now we are headed for it again.  With Timmy.
