I don't know why, but my first car has always been my favorite.  A 66 VW Bug with a sun roof!  I miss that car!  When a snow storm flared up during rush hour on the way to work, and the station wagon and sedan in front of me slipped into the ditch, and the School bust got stuck, my bug, shifted into first, got me out of there along with the stranded motorists who were glad that I had a car that could drive in the snow.

It was not a Cadillac!  in fact when it rained, the driver side filled up with water!  The Gas Pedal I had to replace, and still I had to use my toes to use it as the guides broke. But when the gas pedal broke? I bought a new wire and installed it myself. And I am Car handicapped!

The Radio?  Pulease!  AM only and then the speakers cracked!

It got bad, so that I had to get the students at VA.Tech to push me to get it started!  Those were the days!

But I had a sun roof!  It leaked oil like a sieve!  And that was what got me.  I cracked the engine on I-64,  I had not added any for a few days.

But it was my first, a stick and I loved it!  Anyone got another one?

You don't have a car like that as transportation, though, unless you are a glutton for punishment.

You do if you got snow!

At least the bug.  It was the best snow car I have ever owned.

I had as much fun on the back seat of the Bug as I did on the back seat of the Chevy. It just required more contortion. Ah, those were the limber days, my friend...

Hehehehe, Yup!
