Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.
Published on December 21, 2005 By Dr Guy In Politics

Recently I wrote an article on why Conservatives are better debaters.  http://drguy.joeuser.com/index.asp?aid=94595  And as if to punctuate my points, and the points of the author of the original article, democraticunderground.com have decided they are the superiors in intellect!

It seems now they are the Wile E. Coyotes.  If you remember, old Wile E. use to call himself a super genius, even tho he never could capture the road runner.  And like the loser Wile E. is, DU has decided that they are smarter than the rest of the unwashed masses of the country:

#1 - I would dare to assume that most of us here are in the upper 1%-20% of the population intelligence-wise. We must come to the realization that the majority of the population is in the lower 80% to 99% percent of the bell-curve. WE are not the norm. The Republicans understand that the average American is not very bright. They cater and pander to the masses. The Democratic Party tries to appeal to the population about "issues" that these people just don't understand.

In addition, people of average or lower intelligence tend to not be as logical or reasoned as those of higher intelligence - they deal with emotion. Therefore they are more likely to get riled up about someone burning a flag rather than a illogical tax cut.

That is why they are losers.  For they feel (there is no knowledge here) they are our intellectual superiors, even tho they cannot have a reasoned discourse or win a debate.  And they Feel that since they are so intellectually superior, that the unwashed masses must therefore be a bunch of idiots, and cant think for ourselves.  Where we have to get our news spoon fed to us by the intellectual elites.

And so their attitudes reflect their contempt of their intellectual inferiors.

Now I will grant you that most people who blog are probably smarter than the average Joe. Both conservative and liberal - with notable exceptions.  And I will grant that most of the country is not in the upper 1-20% on the intelligent scale, altho I would not agree that only bloggers occupy that niche.

But one thing I do know.  If you treat a dog with contempt, he is more likely to bite you than to wag his tail.  And so the effete snobs on the left at this clown palace, as well as their idols in the left leadership, treat the rest of society with contempt, and then expect them to come to the table wagging their tails, and begging for more.

My Mailman may not be as smart as I.  But you know what I have learned?  If I treat him with respect (it is actually a her), then he goes the extra mile when there is a problem with my mail, or when I get something important.  I dont have to discuss Descartes with him, nor talk about the theory of Quantum Physics.  I just treat him with respect, and in turn, he treats me kindly as well.

That is one of the biggest reasons the left loses so often, and their last bastions of strength are in the north east, where people expect to get screwed and stomped on, and the left coast, where people just dont care.  But in the fly over country, and the highways and byways of the rest of the country, were, for the most part, people are treated with respect and return that respect, they have no chance.  People dont want a god to represent them, they want their neighbor.  And as long as the left treats the citizens of this country with contempt and scorn, they will forever remain a minority, and apparently stupid, party.  Even the unwashed masses learn from their mistakes.  The elite liberals never do.

Intelligence without wisdom is no different from stupidity!  You are very right!

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but the majority of people who voted for Bush did so out of fear and because of his so called "values." And those things are nothing but emotion.

his so called "values."

Values are at the heart of voting, dumbass. It's called a platform.

I liked your article, Dr. Guy. The average DU reader may like to have his ego stroked, but I like to think that I am more reasoned and logical than the average DU reader.

Did you know that the federal gov't employs more mathematicians than any other employer?
Did you know that more members of MENSA work within the federal gov't than any other employer?

Umm....why else would I vote for someone? I mean...yeah, I feared that if Kerry would get into office, our troops would come home War Criminals (heh, isn't that what he has basically been calling them lately?), I feared for our security if Kerry got into office. By the time he took a poll, changed his mind 5 different times, took another poll, and another mind-changing series....well, you should get my point.

But as far as values goes? HELL YEAH I WILL VOTE FOR VALUES. Why wouldn't I? Oh, wait, the left didn't allow their beliefs or values to dictate to them...bullshit. They allowed their hatred of Bush to allow them to vote for a pansyass, weaker than a broken stick in the mud like Kerry....the guy that voted for it before he didn't vote for it....who is the same guy that doesn't want a timetable, but does want a timetable....

You are damn right I voted based on my values and convictions and what I believed in....why else would I vote for someone? If I wasn't going to worry about our security, about the war in Iraq, about terrorists getting over here and blowing up my wife and kids at the local walmart (that bastion of evil capitalism)....If I didn't care if I had a president who didn't do what he said he would do....If I didn't care about a man practicing what he believed....yeah, I would have voted for Kerry....

Not to burst your bubble, but did you read the article?  Thank you for proving my point, and now....

Prove it!

Actually for all its waste, there is some good!  I did not know, now I do!  But this is not about government employees or non ones.  just about how each side views those who are not sycophantic to their own ideas.

The real truth is that most people do have values, and do vote them.  To denigrate them, even when they are on your side, is the Wile. E. Coyote idiocy! And the proof is Ben.  I appreciate him for validating my argument.
