Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

Locamama recently wrote an article asking asking several questions about why people blog.  http://locamama.joeuser.com/index.asp?AID=95055  It is a very revealing article both to others, and to those who took the time to answer the questions.  But one of the question generated a lot of questions itself, and not many answers.

Do you consider yourself to be in with the in crowd on JU?

So what is the "in Crowd" of JU?  I guess we could easily put Brad, Karmagirl, Cordelia, T-Man, and Larry in there as they are the Admins.  But who else belongs in the 'in crowd'?

Before anyone can really answer that, I guess we would have to define what the 'In Crowd' is, and that is the question I am asking here.

What do you consider to be the In crowd.  You can use people, or categories, but I am interested to know what others think is the 'in crowd'.

I consider the ones that are the main bloggers here to be the "In" crowd. Dharma, Whip, Texas, Myrrander, etc.

Don't include me in the "in" crowd on a Dr. Guy thread, you might make him cry. The "in" crowd here consists of people with too much time on their hands. From time to time, that includes me, I suppose.

If bloggers are wondering if you are ok, because you've gone more than 5 days without posting... you're probably in the "in" crowd. ;~D

That's an excellent point Ted! I was surprised to see Dr. Guy call me part of the "in crowd" since I am not a terribly prolific blogger and many of my articles are more of the "journaling" type than thought provoking rhetoric. Although I do work at Stardock, so I guess I'm "in" that way.

I'd say if there is an "in crowd" it would have to be those who are top posters. Taking a look at the top ten list (or even top 20 - 30) would give you an idea who might be "in", and rightfully so!

That is a great point!  Had not thought of that.  You get a cookie!

And you are one who we know we can go to when we need help!  SO you get thanks for that as well (along with the rest of the Stardock staff!)

I was part of said in crowd early on in JU but I have had much less time on my hands for the last year or so so now I am just one of the oldies along with many others from back when JU only had a few regular posters.

would say you are mostly right on this, however, on the knowing part, only what we chose to share. Most of us do not have contact outside of JU, so we really dont "know" one another.

I mean know about people's personal lives such as their families, their real names. I don't know your real name, Dr. Guy.

I don't know about looking at the top of the lists. Certainly it'd be useful to a certain extent, but I don't consider Dusk part of the "in-crowd." Don't really see a lot of posting by him. Or her. See?

I actually looked for your posts back then (do now as well, but they were more frequent then).  But what attribute made you part of the 'in crowd'?  Regular posting?

Should my ex ever find this site, that is why.  Many share about their families, and indeed I have.  But I try to make sure that I dont give out too much.  I am actually not worried about the people here, even the ones that dont like me.  But JU is googlable.

Him.  He does a lot of music, and does comment on some.  But is not a regular on most articles.  And Lucas is restricted right now, so cant comment on others.  So yea, the top X is not a real good measure I would think.
