I think I am going to buy a Lottery ticket!  Guess that is not much of a revelation (other than I never have in the past), but perhaps the reason why might be of interest!

Yesterday, it snowed! And Snowed!  So after a day of perfect temps (mid 60s), Sunday, it snowed!  And snowed!  Because the ground was so warm, most did not stick at first, but we eventually got 4 inches.  Wet heavy snow too!

I got home a little late as I was driving carefully.  Across the street from us is a house for Girls (Second chance house is what they call it).

For the most part, they are good neighbors.  And we have only had one minor problem with them.  Parking in the middle of my side of the street!  Since my wife and I keep different hours, that is where I want to park.  And sure enough one of them did that yesterday.  I could park at the end of the property or by the mailbox, but because I did not know if the mailman had come yet, I decided to park at the end.

This morning, I came out and started clearing the snow off my truck.  4 inches is not a lot, but when half of it is frozen to the car, it is nasty to clean off!  So I resigned to freezing while I cleaned.  In the middle of cleaning off the truck, I heard a loud SNAP, and then Boom!

A huge limb had fallen off a pine tree!  Where?  Right next to my mailbox!  Right where I would have been if I had parked there last night! So instead of writing this note, thankful for a whole body, I would probably be in the hospital with a concussion and several broken bones (or maybe worse!).

So today, I am going to buy a lottery ticket!  Someone likes me!

The good news is I was again at the wrong place at the right time. The bad news is that it is a week too late for the $300m! Just a measly $16m. But I can live with that!

The funny thing was when it happened, I did not think "whew!" I was just thinking, "damn, another limb to clean up!". It occurred to me about 10 minutes later!
