Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

A funny thing happened on the way to the protest.  The protested for have asked the protested against to remove a bunch of International Solidarity Movement members!  Why?  Well, according to the story, the people really dont help at all, just grandstand and stir up trouble, and they are ruining the Arab's way of life!

Arab leaders in Hevron have contacted the city’s Jewish leaders for help in getting rid of self-proclaimed anarchist volunteers who, they complain, are destroying their traditional way of life.

It appears the offspring of the rich American and Europeans are doing what all spoiled rich non-Muslim (and maybe even Muslim rich kids) do.

The local Arabs in the Hevron region whom the activists claim to be helping are now complaining that the American and European students behave in a provocative and offensive manner in Hevron’s public areas.

Several local Arab residents told the Kol Ha’Ir newspaper that the activists have been exposing the local youths to drug use and sexual promiscuity.

So in a very weird way, these juvenile delinquents are actually promoting a greater understanding between Israelis and Arabs!  Although that does not appear to be their primary purpose (Israelis are the BAAAADD people).

I hope that the Israelis help out these Arabs!  It is another sign of something good happening in the Middle east!

The Arabs are right. They have one way of life, the anarchists quite another. Why should they tolerate them?

If they want to get rid of the anarchists peacefully, I am in total agreement with them.

I think that is what they are trying to do.  Just asking for a little help.

So let me get this straight: Arab youth are being corrupted by American and European youth who, after arriving in Hevron, start acting in a lewd and lascivious manner in public. This causes the Muslim youth to stray? And the Arabs are asking the Jews for help in expelling the foreigners' anarchic, Satanic influence?

Wow, what an issue!

Just for a clarification... most of the Jewish youth in question here are students at Yeshivas in the Hebron area (Jewish Religious Schools). For the most part they come from very wealthy American or western European families. Many are 'troubled' kids that are encouraged by their families to 'study' in Israel for a year. Once they get here they make their drug and sexual contacts and try to involve the local youth, who for the most part are Arabs, and the cycle of corruption begins. The elders in the Arab community are the ones that want this to stop. They are appealing to the Israeli government to clean up the acts of these spoiled kids. So far, nothing is being done.

Some things transcend politics!

The article indicated that these were ISM Members. Rachel Corrie was a member of that before she thought she was super girl.  While I dont deny that many may be College kids, it seems most are just a bunch of trouble makers.  I would hope the Authorities do clean it up.  It seems that it would be a good gesture of goodwill.

Rachel Corrie

Rachel Corrie was a very dedicated Peace Worker that was literally murdered by Israeli occupiers in the Gaza Strip last year. They claim it was an 'accident'... it was murder!
She never thought of herself as a super girl... just a Peace Worker. If that is something super, so be it.

Standing in front of a bulldozer only works when those in control of the bulldozer value human life more than their mission.

When their mission is actually part of protecting lives, the distinction becomes blurred.

Standing in front of a bulldozer is abusing an advantage of the evil and a disadvantage of the good. She can protest all she likes, but to do what she did can result in her death. She should have been aware of that.

There is some debate how she died.  Not knowing her, I can only relate what I read.  However, while she may have been a very dedicated peace worker, she was not out there for an education.  That was clear from her intent.  And that is my contention here.  The troublemakers are not there for an education.  And it does not look like they are very interested in working for peace.  Just in being spoiled brats.

There is the story of the lady who stood infront of a defense train (a train carrying supplies for the Military.).  She lost both legs and then screamed she was denied her rights.

IN both cases these people stood up for something they believed in, in a very dangerous manner.  If they did not think of the possible reprecusions, then they are too stupid to have survived anyway.  Knowing the reprecussions mean you also accept the responsibility of your actions.  Sometimes a train cannot stop on a dime, and neither can a bull dozer.

"Murdered Peace Worker" my ass.

She may not have been the smartest person, but I have not heard anyone say she was not at least a peace worker.

What would you call an American who did this in Tokyo in 1942, Berlin in 1944, Moscow Or Hanoi in 1972, Or Baghdad in late 1990-early 1991 or early 2003? A peace worker?

I never contended that the ISM was a bunch of saints.  And the link just said she was in the worng place at the wrong time.  However, last I checked, we are not at war with either Egypt or the Palestinians.  so your analogy does not work.

If the article is right, and I believe it is, these "peace workers" are scum.

How can they, how DARE they protect these Jew-murdering animals? And how dare they call it "peace work"?

From the article:

but we can't deny the indirect evidence, the Kalashnikovs found in the office.

Incidentally, I do NOT have a Kalashnikov in my office. Perhaps we have just found the difference between "dedicated peace workers" and one supporter of Israel and her fight against the terrorists.
