A 68 Mustang
Published on November 17, 2005 By Dr Guy In Current Events

Here in the heart of the confederacy, we recently had a spate of vandalism where some cars in a rich neighborhood (one of the first PUDS) were spray painted.  The miscreants stole the paint, along with some beer and a gun (not really part of the story as they either drank the beer or trashed it and did not use the gun) from a resident.

Then they proceeded to spray paint some cars.

They were caught and it turns out they were 13 and 15 and did it because of some restrictions on Skateboarding.  Ok so far.

But what really got me, was they spray painted a classic 1968 Mustang! I know it is stupid!  They did worse to some other cars.  But when I saw that, I was heartbroken!

How can you deface a 68 Mustang!

I am not a car afficionado.  I do not own a porshe or Corvette!

But the Mustang? That made me see red (literally)!

I guess there are some things I just love even tho I will never own them.  And that was my first, and really only dream car (I was 11 - so like I cold have bought one?).

When I saw that, I wanted to hang those little twerps by their toenails and apply flaming bamboo slivers to them!  But my cooler head did prevail, and I just hope they throw the book at the spoiled brats.

All over a 68 Mustang.

Go figure.

What gets me?

three years ago a friend lost his sister to a car accident, just before Halloween.

The neighbor hoodlums were out egging houses on Halloween and of course egged his.

That was upsetting to me.

It is funny what gets you.  They really trashed a Nissan Pickup.  Only (as far as the pictures showed) painted the mustang on the grill of the Mustang.  But that got me!

Caning?  Hell yes!  Too young to send to prison.  Just a caning and some community time!

I agree. It's rare enough to see the classic muscle cars on the streets, it oughta be a crime punishable with extreme pain and humiliation to deface one.

That is much more upsetting than my trivial peeve.  I am sorry for your friend.

At least humiliation.  It was really childish, and spoiled of them.

I agree, humilation would be really rough on teenagers! THAT I think might teach them a lesson.
That and community service

I totally agree!  These are not hardened criminals, just spoiled brats.

We lost SO much in our justice system when we took humiliation out of it. How many kids would think twice about doing something if they saw their classmates put in the stocks for a few hours, or had to dig graves for doing the same thing. I know people don't expect to get caught when they do things, but... Makes ya wonder.

You know what was the worst thing about my fist speeding ticket?  Knowing that many of my co-workers saw me pulled over on the Side of I-95 getting it!

The Ticket was cheap.  The embarassment lasted a lot longer.

It was in a 66 VW Beetle too - Did not think they could do over 55!  I thunk wrong!
