Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.
Published on November 12, 2005 By Dr Guy In Current Events

I recently penned an article where I opined that perhaps for cretins like the president of Iran, we need not use force, just circulate rumors.  And those rumors would then incite their followers to kill them.

Well, Al Qaeda has done me one better.  They are actually following the president of Iran's advice and attacking fellow Muslims!  Why?  because there MAY have been (I understand that 1 American was among the dead) staying at the hotels they targeted.  Instead, these whack jobs killed a lot of innocent Muslims, including the Fathers of the Bride and Groom at a wedding.  (Side Note:  My heart goes out to this couple.  On the day that should have been the most joyous, now they will always remember it was the one they lost their fathers).

And the Jordanians are not laying down and taking it!  Nor are the Palestinians who reportedly lost 17 of their own there!  They were shell shocked after it happened.  now they are mad!  And I say more power to them!  While I do not condone their silence when London or Madrid was bombed, it took the killing of their own to wake up (Much like the French now are).  For Terrorists (not freedom fighters, not insurgents - terrorists!  Or as one calls them - Bacteria) are no ones friend.  They are just blood thirsty killers.  Much in the same mold as Jeffrey Dahmer, John Gacy and Charles Manson.

And when they cant reach out and kill their faux enemies, they strike at what is convenient.  for they dare not confront a true army.  They must kill innocent civilians.

Now that Al Qaeda has started killing their potential supporters, perhaps the real Muslims will see that hate is not the answer.  And Al Qaeda has only hate.  Just a burning, irrational insane hate.

I don't want to see any more innocents killed to pull the true Muslims out of their myopia about terrorists.  I hope this one episode is enough to inflame the entire Muslim world against them.

That is my hope at least, and so far, it looks like a good start to it.

I don't know what will happen.

Maybe that one person who knows where Bin Laden is has seen this and thought, screw it, he is going down.

But in reality..I still don't hold out much hope. I think the affected nations will be less than effectual in the long run...

I just don't have any optomistic vibes toward Muslim countries.

Jordan is one of the ones I feel optimistic towards. It's all still very political, but I think their king has the capability to make a difference. I wish his father had done... more.

At the very least, this could stifle some support for al Qaeda. Yes, the Palestinians could still rally behind their other causes, but they wouldn't throw weight into those associated most directly with bin Laden.

I dont expect them to embrace Jews and Americans tomorrow, but every little drop erodes a piece of the mountain.  And I hope this is many drops, and just he beginning.

There has to be a beginning!  I hope this was it.

Good article.

Add in the questioning of Emile Lahoud, current President of Lebanon, in the investigaton of the murder of former Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri and you see real divisions in the Arab world. (Hariri wanted Syrian forces out of Lebanon and was assasinated on February 14th.)

Moderates are standing up to oppose the militants. But the question of who will win that struggle is not clear.

A shame really, but at least now we are seeing the beginnings of hope.  It should be a slam dunk.  At least now, some are questioning the slash and burn tactics of Al Qaeda.

Common sense should dictate that their tactics should backfire--but Muslim psychology is difficult to fathom.

I'll look for it probably tomorrow.  Just taking a break while liming the yard!  Nasty thing!  If you have never played with lime, dont start!

Whether it is lack of common sense or the muslim psychology really does not matter.  But as long as they continue to target women and children, they will not be winning friends and influencing moderate muslims.
