Meirs has withdrawn her nomination and Bush has accepted it. Now to wait for the second shoe to drop.

Tomorrow indictments will probably be handed down, but then he can announce his new pick for the S.C. on like Monday or Tuesday and BAM, indictments are OLD news.

Pure Machiavellian! I had not thought of that angle. But (not to throw a monkey wrench into your idea), Originally the indictments were supposed to come down yesterday.
