Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

A seemingly innocent news article today reveals the passing of an institution.  The US Military is sending the only remaining MASH (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital) to Pakistan to help with the Earthqake.  The 212 MASH.  The LAST ONE.  It seems that the army has come up with a new animal called a CASH (uh, oh!).  They say that the Combat Army Surgical Hospitals are more responsive than the MASH.  From the results in Iraq, I guess they are right.

But for those of us who lived through the Movie and Episodes of M*A*S*H, it is kind of sad to see that icon being retired.  I guess the Army just could not tolerate the hi-jinks of Hawkeye, BJ and Trapper John any longer.

Farewell, so long, good bye.

I think for the enemy that get free medical we should have a unit called TRASH The Real American Surgical Hospital.

I was the Assistant Signal Section Chief... The radio guys know everything going on in the unit... sometimes we knew way too much! ;~D

Is it like the confessional?  Where you cant tell?

The Original Sargent Bilko.  Plus he played a lot of other sleezy characters, like one of the guys in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, World (one of Spencer Tracey's last films).  He always played the guy trying to work the angles.

See, there are some things I don't know about American culture.

But the real question is, do you know British culture and who Alan B'Stard is?

(I am sure you'd like him! He is a sort of figurehead for European neo-cons.)

The performer (Rik Mayall) also did a show about left-wing students (anarchists with rich parents) and later appeared as Hitler in a commercial against the Euro.

Thanks.  I will make a note to check it out tonight!  He is better than Benny Hill, right?  I am not a Benny fan.

He is not that kind of comedian.

Benny Hill is not considered one of the best here. He was merely good for exports because even the Germans got his "humour".

Hey, Larry Linville already died.  I guess nothing remains the same.

To be honest, this myth is probably due to three major facts:

1. Americans do not know any German or Italian comedies (the two countries form a cultural region). I personally find Italo-German movie hilarious.

2. Because of World War II European Jews lost their former German identity. (Woody Allen and the Marx Brothers were of German stock, so to speak.)

3. Germans are not funny.

it was a Joke son, I say a joke.  Having lived in Germany for a couple of years, I understand their sense of humor a lot better than the British one.

At least they dont idolize Jerry Lewis.
