Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

When Robertson decided that Hugo Chavez would be better off dead than red, most sane people laughed at him and poopooed him.  Indeed some on the loony left fringe even ran to a microphone to paint everyone to the right of John Kerry as in his svengali sway and the right was advocating Assassinations.

Well, eventually the furor died down and the left went back to saying "Bush Bad" and the right saying "loony left nuts". End of Story, right?

Not so fast!  It seems that someone took Robertson to heart!  Yes, dear folks someone is not playing with a full deck!  It seems that Hugo Chavez is now seeing an assassin behind every peace corp (or in this case Missionary) smiling face!  He is now booting out a bunch of missionary whose sole state crime was - being conservative compassionate christian missionaries!  You wonder what is next, closing down all evangelical churches for fomenting revolution and insurection?

So while at first we thought that Robertson was just a kook, now it seems he was really playing head games with Chavez.  And instead of dusting off the allegations and going about his tinpot ways, he is scared of his own shadow!

Seems that all Robertson has to do now is say boo, and Chavez runs and hides.  Makes you wonder who the real kook is now.

Chavez, an ex-soldier who says his socialist revolution counters U.S. influence,

Seems he now has delusions of grandeur as well.

Chavez was seeing assassins long before that, and long before the coup attempt. That is the frame of mind you get into when you want so badly to be a big, tough dictator. His downward spiral began when he started seizing the holdings of private industry, negating democratically elected union representation, and bullying his own people. It began when he suspended the legislative duties of the other elected leaders of his country and started drafting dicated laws and a constitution of his own making.

When he is voted out of his office, and the person who wins isn't one of his puppets, I might change my mind. As long as he suspends his socialist, democratic ideals every time he is threatened, and criminalizes dissent in his own nation, though, he's a liar and and a hypocrite.

I suspect it will be a coup that topples him.  Like a tick on a hound dog, he is dug in.  Of course when that happens, the kooks like latour will say Bush did it.

“The announcement came just days after Robertson, a leader of the Christian conservatives, again attacked Chavez, accusing him of funding Osama Bin Laden and seeking atomic material from Iran.”

If Robertson is a leader of the Christian conservatives, how can you blame Chavez for being weary of Christian conservatives?
I don’t blame Chavez for being concerned about the US trying to remove him. It seems to be US policy to remove governments that don’t cave to US interests.
Venezuela is a democracy. If Chavez is as bad as BakerStreet makes him out to be, then the population wouldn't vote for him.

Robertson is "faaaaaar" from being a christian conservative "leader". Although he himself may think that.

Calypso Louie has decided that all white men have to die.  You wont see me looking behind my back at every opportunity in fear for my life.  You can try to explain it any way you want, but the reality is Robertson is just palying head games with Chavez, and Chavez is too stupid to understand that.

Well, he does lead the 700 club.

As long as Robertson isn't regarded as "crafter of official US foreign policy", he can say anything that will get him the attention he so deeply craves.

This came from the same website Dr. Guy got the story from. ABC News says that Pat Robertson is a Christian conservative leader.
If a religous leader suggests that Bush should be assasinated do you think the US government would take that lightly?

When it comes to something like this I personally would not believe one word from ABC. Try and see if you can find one true christian organization that says he's their leader.

if robertson renounced god at the same time chavez was being baptized, they'd both still remain pretty much useless chronic wastes of water, air, food & space.

kicking that particular group of missionaries outta venezuela may result in some yanamamo being able to live free for a few more years.

every peace corp

not sure why you'd wanna involve the peace corps. did chavez mention them? are there any peace corps personnel in venezuela?

Maybe they're both kooks, or maybe they're both foxes. Or maybe they're both equal parts a "kook" and a "fox", which would make them both kox.

I like that: a Kook Fox

Robertson is and always has been a kook. He's Jim Baaker without the horns. Nonetheless, he's free to say whatever he wants.

Cheers,
