Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.

This is a tale of 2 women, looking at the same devastation in New Orleans.  Neither likes Bush.  That is putting it midly.  But you decide who is the whack job and who is a partisan who sees an opportunity to do some good from all the misery that Katrina wrecked.  And who is willing to work with everyone to accomplish this goal?

It is a Christ-like principle to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and shelter the homeless. That's what is happening in Algiers and other places in Louisiana...but by the people of America, not the so-called "Christians" in charge. If George Bush truly listened to God and read the words of the Christ, Iraq and the devastation in New Orleans would have never happened. I don't care if a human being is black, brown, white, yellow or pink. I don't care if a human being is Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, or pagan. I don't care what flag a person salutes: if a human being is hungry, then it is up to another human being to feed him/her. George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans and Iraq, and excuse his self from power. The only way America will become more secure is if we have a new administration that cares about Americans even if they don't fall into the top two percent of the wealthiest. - Cindy Sheehan in her own words

Now the other:

On Thursday night President Bush spoke to the nation from my city. I am not a Republican. I did not vote for George W. Bush--in fact, I worked pretty hard against him in 2000 and 2004. But on Thursday night, after watching him speak from the heart, I could not have been prouder of the president and the plan he outlined to empower those who lost everything and to rebuild the Gulf Coast. . . .

The president has set a national goal and defined a national purpose. This is something I believe with all my heart: When we are united, nothing can stop us. We will not waver, we will not tire, and we will not stop until the streets are clean, every last brick has been replaced and every last family has its home back.

Bush talked about how we bury our family and friends. We grieve and mourn. We march to a solemn song and then we rejoice and step out and form the second line. That line is now open to every American to join us in rebuilding a great region of this country. New Orleans will rise again. My hometown is down but not out, and with the help of every American, it will be back on its feet, bigger and brighter than ever.

Mr. President, I am ready for duty. I am ready to stir those old pots again. Let's roll up our sleeves and get to work.  - Donna Brazille, Campaign Manger for Al Gore

Now, does anyone want to defend one of these people any longer?

I'll defend her ... Donna Brazille.

That is a woman who goes a long way (in this statement, at least) of displaying how an American should respond.

That right there shows that this lady has class. Even though she disagrees, and disagrees strongly enough to actively work against him, she is not afraid to show when he does something right. She's not afraid to show when she agrees. She's not afraid to show that, even though you may not like the man or what he's done, you can still recognize when he is deserving of respect and recognition.

And earning a lot of respect from everyone!

I never disliked Donna.  actually, I thought she was wrong, but she has never said or done anything to merit scorn or derision - she just backed her guys (she did say some off the wall things after 2000, but I figure that was just venting).

With this, she has earned a lot of respect from a lot of people.  Her voice will carry a lot more weight into the future.  if she can keep this attitude, I would think her next client will have a chance in a presidential election.
