Terpfan recently published an ariticle where a conservative talk show host had been suspended for calling the war on terror, a war on Islam. Ok, that is going a bit overboard, and I would call Bush, Cheney, Kerry or Ried to task if they did it. But Talk shows have more latitude in that respect, and I agree with that latitiude.
Except.
NOt in a liberal Mecca.
Ok, hands up. WHO is going to argue that DC is NOT a liberal establishment? To a lesser degree, who is going to argue that RICHMOND, VA (former capital of the confederacy) is NOT a conservative establishment? Have your facts handy in both cases as you got a lot of digging to do to convince anyone this side of du.org of the contrary on either point.
Ok, so DC suspends this guy for saying war on Islam. It is his opinion, and not widely shared. I dont see a problem with that. I may not agree, but it is not really that inflamatory.
Ok, here in Richmond, the replacement for Michael Graham (the DC guy) plays Hitler speeches and says they are Pope Benedict XVI's early statements (it is clear who the speaker is). He says he was "just joshing" and doe snot even get a slap on the wrist. He clearly pissed off most of his viewers, but no penalty. Ne never appologized either.
One person goes anti-Islam - he is ostracized.
One person goes anti-Catholicism - he is given a free ride.
Now, who among you is going to argue that there is NOT an anti-Christian (with emphasis on Catholic) bias in the this country?
I will leave this open to anon posters as I dont think any JU posters are that stupid.
