Mystery Solved?
Published on May 31, 2005 By Dr Guy In Politics

It seems that CNN is claiming that W. Mark Felt, now 91, but before a very high ranking FBI official, is Deep Throat.

It is all well and good, but kind of anticlimatic for those of use who lived through the years of intigue and betrayal.  And the hypothesizing was so much fun.  Now some one has stepped forward and basically said "I killed Cock Robin".

Oh, well, there is always the Grassy knoll still hanging out there!

The whole thing here DG is "who" really cares? I mean really! We done went through this crap once. Isn't that enough?

I had fun with the guessing game of who really was Deep Throat, or even if it was a collection of people.

As I said, it changes nothing, but takes some of the intrigue and guessing out of it. I dont want to revisit watergate, just like I dont want to revisit Nov 22, 1963. But the questions that remain make them kind of mythical, and one myth just died.

I liked the Ben Stein theory myself!

What would that be?

I'm disappointed. I was hoping it would be a slightly more 'public' figure.

All in all, a bit of a let down.

At least we're saved the horror of another Woodward and Bernstein book. The guy kind of stole Home from them by coming forward, didn't he?

I was hoping for Kissinger. How juicy would that have been?

Love him or hate him (felt), he did right to the end!

My Money (for the luridness, not because I had any inkling) was on Haig.
