big Ben dead?
Published on May 28, 2005 By Dr Guy In Current Events

Big Ben stopped ticking for an hour a half Friday night.

The time that drives the world, came to a screeching halt.  But at least they were able to restart it (be still my stopped heart).

Come on you Englophiles!  get with the program and fix the grand old man!  I really dont want to stop the planet and get off again soon!

I heard about this event this morning my dear boy. It was quickly corrected, and was blamed on high humidity effecting the mechanics of the clock. The recent hot spell hitting England is coming from Europe. On the eve of the anniversary of Trafalgar if this attack on the symbol of Britain by the Europeans is not reason enough for another war then I do not know what is.

"do you really want me to tell you?"

Shut up Moanopeace, I have not gone anywhere and as every day passes and I am getting richer, more popular and more powerful. You mist as well just commit suicide you old poofter!

yes, but we need to get your boys in action!  The world cannot tolerate the time keeper of the Universe to be so cavalierly taken care of!  As the noble English you are, I expect you to repel those dastardly europeans and their hated humidity and keep BB on time!

I understand your need to sleep, but Pulease!  Find some good help to watch the clock in your absense!

besides, War is not necessary.  A scowl for those cowards will do just fine!

Like the candyman...speak his name and he *will* appear. (Much to mona's dismay.)

Well, I could have put this under Humor, but it was real news.  And I hoped!  I am glad he has arisen to the occassion!

This is your one and only warning.  post on Topic, or be banned.  I care not for your juvenile attempts at humor, nor for your juvenile wit.

You have been warned.

"War is not necessary"

War is usually the answer to most political problems, this is where I agree with your President fervently. Out of war comes not death and destruction but battle hardened men and strengthened nations. Let war commence!

"mona will carry on like this every time SPM shows up"

Jolly good show, Moano is one of these left wing "sponges" as I like to call them. They absorb all the insults and rhetoric you hurl at them and then scream "racism", "homophobia" etc. at the top of their voices.

Pish and posh my dear girl!

Dr G...I am NOT going to start another flame war here, but mona will carry on like this every time SPM shows up, he's been doing it for over a year now, and no one, and I mean NO ONE has ever been able to convince him to just leave it alone.

Good luck, you'll need it.

Thanks LW.  Mano knows my feelings and (with your insightful comment on my hypocrisy concerning Myrr as an exception) I do not take sides.  if you can respect that, he can as well.  And usually does.

And luck has nothing to do with it!  I kind of missed him.

Well, I was hoping for a more peaceful alternative, but that is up to you and PM Blair.  But they do need to be taken care of, one way or the other.

Pish and posh my dear girl!

You are simply diplomatic!  let us leave this to the BB issue and not cast aspersions upon others.  After all there is more than enough blame to go around with the temporary demise of Big Ben!
