The Big East just extorted a ton of money from the ACC. Why? Because 3 members of the conference exercised their right to freely associate with any schools they wanted to and left to Join the ACC.
Was that the ACC's fault? After all, the ACC does not pursue schools to Join. Schools Petition the conference to Join, and thus many members of the Big East did so, but only 3 were chosen.
So the big east sued, and the ACC settled instead of being tied up in court for a long and costly fight.
I guess that makes the big east the big least now.
