It aint over

Yep!  After all the bitterness and acrimony of the 2004 election, it still is not over.  The State of Washington has a new governor, or maybe not.  After 3 recounts, the democrat was elected by 129 votes out of 2.9 million cast.  ANd then only after many suspicious missing votes were found in King County, a very heavily democrat area.

And the Republicans are not giving up.  In what amounts to court victory, a judge has ruled that Republicans can use proportional analysis to disallow illegal votes (i.e. they can prove that 1000 people voted who were not eligible, but not who they voted for, so if the democrat got 60% of the votes in that county, 60% of those illegals would be said to be for the democrat).

Democrats are fearful now and have promised to dig up their own dirt on Republican areas.  But as King County is the big Kahuna of Washington State in terms of population, it looks like Washington may have a new governor in a matter of days, not years!

And all you political junkies thought it was over!  Good times are always hard to let go of!

So now it's Republicans using the courts to keep the recount process going? Didn't I hear time and again during the 2000 election that they were above such acts and the constant recounts and court battles were merely the last resort of the Left?

Just an odd bit of irony.

it was the democrats that brought this to the courtsd when they lost the first 2 ballots.. the republicans are just taking advantage of what the dems started.

I am not sure who did, but given the closeness, it was going to wind up there in any event.  And that is a real shame.  because regardless of who eventually wins, 2.9 million voters were just disenfranchised by the courts.

Where is Jesse Jackson and your Senator, Boxer, on this one?

No, It really is funny.  You cant help but laugh at it. I dont blame Zoomba for seeing the irony in it.  I was ready to jump on the 'cut this crap out' bandwagon until my friend sent me the real low down. Basically, everything that the democrats charged in 2000, is being charged by the republicans this time around.  And unlike Fla in 2000, in Washington, they apparently did create some votes in King County.

Just be glad we dont live there.  It is not going to be nice when this gets to court in 3 weeks.

At least there was a chance for a challenge and recount there. Here in Wisconsin, it has been proven that not only were more illegal votes cast than the margin of victory for Sen. Kerry, it turns out that Milwaukee County didn't submit their supporting documentation until months after the election. Which means, according to the law, the Wisconsin election shouldn't have been certified.

The Gov. King Doyle's reponse? Something to the effect of, You can't prove that, just because those voter registration cards had names that don't exist, and addresses that don't exist, and the laws of the State of Wisconsin were not followed, I see no reason to question the outcome of this election.

The fact is, there were "inconsistencies" and outright crimes all over. What we should be doing is identifying the weaknesses and fixing the problems. So far, all we get are a bunch of elected and election officials who aren't willing to do their jobs.

You know, I know a few people who are "Militia" members. Every chance they get, they go into the woods and train for the day that the government proves to the people that all hope is lost and the Constitution needs to be defended and taken back from an unconstitutional government. I wonder how much more of this crap has to happen before they move out of the woods?

While the outcry was about Ohio, We did hear about the Wisconsin shenanigans. I would hope that the militia never sees their day, but until these things are cleaned up and for good, I have my doubts.

The stupidity is when Boxer et. al. cry disenfranchisement, but only when republicans win. I am sure there are as many on the republican side who would do it, they just have not needed it before now. Except in Wsahington.

Yep, when I said "all over" I wasn't just talking geography... sadly.
