Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.
All Pagans welcome however
Published on April 29, 2005 By Dr Guy In Politics

The ACLU, as many now know, sued the City and County of Los Angeles to remove a cross from its seal.  Shock!  They must be supporting the separation of Church and state.

But if that was the case, why did they not object to the pagan goddess on the same seal?

Because they dont care about the separation of Church and State, tehy only care about harassing Christians for their own perverted ends.

The proof is in the deeds, as their words are worthless.

Is Toto with her?

Nah!  The dog was smarter!

So the general Christian symbol of the cross is objectionable, but the specifically Catholic symbol of a Mission is ok? ;~D

Sure! But it is whitewashed to a house!

Stupid is as stupid does. DId you see how the liberals were trying to spin this? Sometimes it makes more sense to say "I am wrong" than to defend the indefensible.

Sorry kb and Dabe.

How about googling "ACLU defends Christian rights" and seeing all they've done. God forbid you would actually research the other side of a story instead of just assuming because you've never seen a news story on it. Maybe that biased media you're always crying about is biased on your side this time. Oddly enough, this you don't seem to mind.

and sometimes you need to follow your own advice.

in fact, there hasnt been a pagan goddess on the seal for at least 6 months (whether the native woman is a pagan might be up to question but that's not what you were claiming in hopes of rousing the rabble). also that's a recognizable representation of a mission building altho admittedly not nearly as walt disneyish as the taco bell logo.

as far as indefensible goes, please explain to me the religious significance of a cross combined with two stars and the hollywood bowl as a symbol of anything. seems blasphemous to me and undercuts your silly attempt to do exactly what al gore was decrying in the portion of american heresy i quoted in your other article.

you know...that speech all those clueless self-proclaimed conservative clone-heads were applauding gleefully in their comments til they discovered who authored it.

The ACLU has been mocked and villified for the past year on the C - sickle thing.

This was partially addressed 4 months ago on LewRockwell. Link

His response was from here Link and the notorious instapundit

You are going to have to provide me with more information/links before I can agree with that statement. I think what is more likely is that they are tiring of being parodied. Religion never enters the equation kemosabe.

Unlike the ACLU, I am an equal opportunity Basher.  You want to google their defense of Christians, go right ahead.  No one is stopping you.  God forbid that you actually have a point to make and actual facts to back it up with.

If you have not seen me admit my mistakes, you dont read much.

They had it on there for almost 50 years, and you just realized it has only been gone for 6 months? Seems you need to take your own advice.  Physician, heal thyself.  Your Hypocrisy is showing.

The cross was there to represent where LA came from originally (god forbid any one would recognize it was originally a spanish Mission!)

So what you are saying is that if our roots sprang from some religious event, we whould shun it and pretend it did not happen?  Sheesh.

I can dig up additional quotes and actions, but that is and was not my point.  I chose this one as it is so blatant.  Words are cheap.  Actions speak louder.  How much louder must they yell before you hear the chorus?
