Wayne Brightly could not pass his teacher's recertification test after repeated attempts, and was in danger of losing his $59k/yr job.  So what did he do?

What every red blooded loser would do.  He hired a man, once homeless, with a developmental disorder similar to Autism to take the test for him.  The hapless victim (who claims to have been threatened by Brightly) not only passed the test, but with such a high score that it sent up red flags and got Brightly busted (good!).

Having worked with teachers before, I can tell you these tests are not rocket science.  Most kids who graduate from High School (legitimately not just passed on) can easily pas sone, but 'not so' Brightly could not and the dedicated professional he was (he likes eating) did the only thing his dim bulb mind could think of.  He cheated.

The next time you hear a student sound like a complete idiot, ask him if Brightly was his teacher!

They can't spell, either. "Popper" for "Pauper." "Then" for "Than."
Bad grammatical syntax. "Went" for "Gone." I saw an English and literature professor on the O'Reilly Factor. He said many kids today get their information from movies and music. Then he said, "Obviously, that's not the most reliable sources." Another thing: Many times, "got" is not necessary. "I've got" should be "I have." "She's got" should be "She has." Sometimes I don't even think they use the contraction, but it's not always easy to tell. It sounds like they say, "I got."

... this is a very interesing article... I think it leads to more questions than this teacher cheating.

If the homeless guy passed the test with flying colors no less, why can't he find a job? What happened to him that made him homeless? Does he WANT to be homeless?

Education is basically based on 2 things; memorization and reading/math. If you can do those to a high degree you are considered very special and go to places like Harvard. But is it possible that there are more dementions to the human intllegence than memory and reading/math skills?

I just think its funny that a person who is getting paid allot of money seems to not be able to do what they are geting paid for, I think it is funny that a person who is obviously 'intellegent' seems to be homeless.

His disorder is similar to Autism, so I think his socializing skills are just not there.  That would also explai why he would have a hard time getting and keeping a job.  It probably has nothing to do with his intelligence (the disorder), and he could actually be like Rain Man.

But the real "WOW!" here is that he is definitely not a teacher and the article does not state he is a genius, so a person with average intelligence (assumed on my part) could easily pass the re-certification test, just not someone who is supposed to be teaching children.
