Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.
Just ask Nancy Pelosi!

It is often said that the first person to break a barrier has to be head and shoulders above their peers in order to deflect the criticism that is bound to occur.  SO you would think that the leader of one of the (current) 2 major parties in the House would have to be super smart or super sharp.

And you would think wrong.  In a demonstration of stupidty unmatched in the recent anals of the House, Nancy Pelosi said

"Maybe this is the president's way of removing him from the Defense Department,"

And all the while you democrats were decrying the appointment of Wolfowitz.  What you did not understand was that it was actually a good thing since it got him out of the Defense Department!

See how silly your party leaders make you look now?

i'm guessing you meant 'annals' although there have been more than a few recent anals in the house.  you also seem to be suggesting ms pelosi is letting her gender down (that's what that 'breaking the barrier' thing is all about right?) by not being a bigger asshole than her male predecessors.

in any event, she's not the only one who feels wolfowitz is being gracefully eased outta the defense department to the benefit of all concerned (with rummy soon to follow) rather than being gratefully promoted to the presidency of the world bank to the detriment of all as a reward for his competency--more like different pooch, same wealth of possibilities for screwing it. link

It was a tongue in cheek reference.

And I guess you can find black helicopters in anything that Bush does, but usually it comes from the kook fringe, not the party elite.  But I guess with leaders like Kennedy, Kerry and Byrd, she is in good company.

And finally, no she is not letting her Gender down.  She is letting her party down.  I expected her to be better, but then I guess I am just another in a long list of people who are very disappointed with the democrat leadership.
