We are not good enough to be Regular Media
Published on March 17, 2005 By Dr Guy In Politics

Seems John Kerry does not like the new Media, and is carping on it and calling it the 'submedia'.  He derisively says:

"We learned, that the mainstream media, over the course of the last year, did a pretty good job of discerning. But there's a subculture and a sub-media that talks and keeps things going for entertainment purposes rather than for the flow of information."

Well, let's see Mr. Frenchman, what the submedia is so guilty of.  Uh, exposing Forgerygate and Dan Rather for the fraud he is.  Giving a medium for the majority of swift Boat Vets to express their displeasure with John Kerry.

Allowing such treasonous organizations like moveon.org and the other 527 outfits to give a voice to the millions of people that were disenfranchised by McCain-Feingold (Like how I used Disenfranchised?).

Even allowing the loonies at the Democrat Underground to spout their idiocy so that noble senators like Boxer could preach conspiracy theories that had no basis in fact or evidence to back them up (But it was the seriousness of the charges after all).

The New Submedia is a wild west of opinionand fact checking.  Something the BBC, NYT and CBS dont seem to be able to do with any accuracy.  Sure wild insane theories are expounded daily on the Internet, but then you dont have to read them.

But they do catch you old media guys with your pants down a lot, and I guess that is why Kerry does not like this new 'submedia'.  after all, if not for the new Submedia, he probably could have gotten away with all his lies about his tour in Vietnam like he did 30 years ago.

Who is Kerry referring to? If he's talking about "Michael Jackson Puppet Theater" on MSNBC or Lingerie Models being reported on by Fox - then, yeah, that's entertainment news that belongs on bullshit pampered-wife networks like ET(entertainment today, kinda' like "People Magazine" for those who don't want to read). I do wish more "real news" and less celebrity trials were on our major news networks.

If, on the other hand, Kerry is speaking of bloggers and the new independent internet news outlets then he gets a boo and hiss from me.

I think he was asleep for the last 3 months, just waking up now to spout stupid statements.

The actual sub-media he is talking about is the bloggosphere and talk Radio.

And when did Fox have the Lingerie Models?  Damn, and I missed that?

Sounds like my local station during sweeps months!

It is core to the liberals.  The biggest losers are their most revered spokespeople.  He is the next Ted (hic) Kennedy for the next 20years.
