Email notification
Published on February 10, 2005 By Dr Guy In Misc

I am curious.  Why do we get email notifications from info@stardock.com, Wincustomize, and 2 different versions of Joe User?  Sometimes on the same thread, I get all 4.

I am just curious.  Not a complaint, but I have a fault.  I always try to figure out things!

Thanks for anyone that can help.

While I'm neither Brad, Karma, or anyone else in a position of authority, I think I can answer your question. The email seems to depend on where the article was last commented on. ie, if someone comments in the joeuser forum you get one email, if it's on wincustomize another, and so on. I think info@stardock.com is for totalgaming.net. Hope that helps.

It beats any idea I had!  I thought it might have to do with where the article was featured, until I got 2 in a row, from 2 different places on the same article.

That makes sense at least.  Thanks!

No no no, you got it alllll wrong MM... Here's how the liberal response would go:

In order to make sure members of all SD communities (WC, JU, info etc...) are equally represented, each area must send an email. Failing to do that shows favoratism of one over the other, and in a world where we want pure 100% equality, such behaviors can not be allowed. However, if a change is needed, we think there should be a committee set up to investigate the issue, as well as a governmnetal support program to help those adversely affected by the email notification system change.

Or alternatively...
It doesn't work right because of the damn filthy rich top 1% who are using email flooding from SD to keep the poor down! What about poor Mrs. Blotchy, a poor inner-city black woman with 30 kids to feed? She has to pay PER email her ISP is so cheap. How can she afford her god-given right to blogging if the evil conservatives at SD insist on flooding her inbox, costing her money that could be better spent towards video game rentals for her children!?

Danny answered it, but Zoomba's was much more entertaining LOL

The different sites have different webmaster type emails assciated with them.  Then we if you respond to them, we simply have more accounts to ignore.       Hi!
