The Fall and Decline of the Weiner
Published on June 2, 2011 By Dr Guy In Politics

I was shocked (and still not sure I read it right), but CBS actually came out and started questioning Rep. Weiner on his story that his account had been "hacked".  Since changed to merely a "prank" (less legal weight behind that), the facts are that so far he has told his constituents he has not done it, told the media he has not done it, and told anyone who would listen that he has not done it.

What he has not done is tell the LAW he has not done it.  As CBS puts it:

"If I'm a lawyer, and I'm representing a politician, in general, it's not against the law to lie to the media. It's not against the law to lie to your constituents. It is against the law to lie to law enforcement authorities,"

Which of course then begs the question - who is Weiner lying to - his constituents and the Media?  Or the law?

The Duck is quacking.

I was beginning to wonder if this 'rabid right-wing site' would ever get around to this story.

Summer doldrums.  No one wants to talk about weiners now.

Mumbles would certainly be disappointed. And disbelieving.

The plot thickens! Apparently this was not the first time he has been less than modest with his photos!

The VRWC strikes again.  Waterboarded him into confessing.

on Jun 07, 2011

Been fun/interesting cruising KOS, DU & LGF this evening.  After the initial shockwave, with a few laudable exceptions, they were really pissed, not so much that Weiner had confessed to being a lying sleazeweasel, but that Breitbart had been vindicated.  And 'hijacked' Weiner's presser to boot.  That really torked 'em.  For awhile, many were convinced the whole thing was a Breitbart setup, a 'fake' press conference.  The hate him even more now, if that were possible - having a mirror held up to one of their clan/heroes has not been a particularly enjoyable experience for them and oh, how they despise the mirror-holder.  Perhaps not the perfect metaphor, but you get the idea.

One of the cleverest, yet rather revealing comments was a tweet attributed to Steve Martin (I assume that Steve Martin):  'BREAKING NEWS:  Rep Weiner confesses to Paul Revere'.  They just can't deal with it straight up.  No pun intended.  No, really.

It all depends upon what the meaning of sex is, right?

Actually a very good one.  I like the mirror metaphor and have been using it of late.  It is not conservatives they hate - it is their own shortcomings that are magnified when compared to conservatives they hate.

Some thoughts on this.

I re-read some of the transcripts of Weiner interviews from before the confession.  What a vile excuse for a human being, knowing now the truth he knew while tongue-lashing and trying to shame others for having the 'nerve' to ask him questions and glibly, repeatedly making penis jokes with or in the presence of female reporters.  He was playing defense by launching a coldly calculated offensive (pun intended); he apparently asked for some of those interviews, particularly Maddow's.  Scum is too kind a word.  So I'm not buying the 'sincerity' in his confession; my opinion is that once he knew it was over, a calculated salvage operation was his only hope.  I'm no prude, it's not the 'sex'.  It's simply... OMG.  And the KOS/DU/LGF crowd, with few notable exceptions, just skate right past all that and either defend him as victim ("who hasn't been caught lying?"), praise him for 'coming clean' or condemn Brietbart as a 'shitstain', one of the nicer sobriquets they use for him.

I can't imagine his wife would or could even get near him again, let alone forgive him, if she watched/listened to those interviews.  Then again, there's Hillary; though I doubt she's ever been 'near' Bill, in any meaningful sense of the word, since Monica.

I could envision Bill Maher being buddies with Weiner - they seem to share a certain ethos - but not John Stewart.

Liberals are notorious for being bigots and misogynists.  And Bullies.  he was just being true to form.  He was being a bully.  Unfortunately (or fortunately for us) the world is not like it use to be with only the MSM lapdogs to heel before the slime of liberals.  Breitbart is part of the new media that just does not care to be popular among the ruling scum.  KOS/DU and the rest of the trash are still in denial.  They want the old world where their word was god.  It only shows their own stupidity, and I would take their insults as a badge of honor that scum is scum, no matter where you find it.

They both just want to suckle at the teats of power.  I can believe both were his friends.  I know maher will remain so.  There is no bottom to his depravity.
