Debate, and discuss, just dont Bore me.
La Raza - THE RACE
Published on May 12, 2010 By Dr Guy In Politics

Recently one of our more esteemed members of JU wrote a light hearted article basically detailing his jobs before he had skills.  In other words, entry level.  His title provoked a strong response from another member of JU and myself, as the debate really had nothing to do with his article.

But the debate got me to thinking about the whole immigration debate.  Specifically illegal immigrants, and what some want to make of this debate.  They are being less than honest by trying to turn the debate away from the merits of the issue and make it into a debate on racism.  It is not a new tactic, and one that has been employed by liberals many times in the past when they cannot or will not debate an issue on the merits.

But his diatribe got me to thinking along those lines and this debate.  And in a way, he is right.  Part of the debate is about race and racism.  And the racists who perpetuate it.  And the part that is about race, is coming from those making the accusations.  For when you boil down their attempts at misdirection and misrepresentation, you find out that the ones who are racists are those doing the accusing, not those against illegal immigration.

How can that be so?  To understand the how, one first has to accept one simple (and most would believe undeniable) truth.  Racism is not isolated to Europeans and their descendants.  Racists come in all colors shapes and sizes.  We have been told by the race baiters of this nation that it is impossible for a person of color (that is an oxymoron in itself since pink is a color, as is white) to be a racist.  But that is because they are just trying to hide their own racism, not because of any universal truth.

And the racism in illegal immigration comes from 2 sides.  The first is obvious as soon as you get into a debate with a liberal that really has not thought about the issue and just pulls a knee jerk talking point from his quiver of barbs.  They apparently think that one race (in this case they assume, incorrectly, that all illegals are Mexicans - or when caught on that racist statement, Hispanic, or when caught on that racist statement, Latino - all are still racist and false).  Clearly that is a major problem, but not the sole problem as the boat load of Chinese caught off the Coast of Washington State clearly indicates.  But they want to make it one race, because that is easier for their mind to comprehend, and their talking point rebuttals to work.  That it is not, just confuses them.

So perhaps racist is too strong a word, and they are race promoters?  Promoting one race over all others?  I think it is just 2 sides of the same coin.  They are trying to do a weaseling out of the fact that while they call White Supremacists racist (and rightly so), they do not do the same for brown Supremacists.  A racist is a racist.

They are crying alligator tears for one race, and ignoring all other races.  Why?  The excuse this racist used was "by what right do we have the right to deprive others of the bounty of America? By an accident of Birth, we are citizens they are not!"

Clever way of turning the argument around.  But it brings up the area where they are supremely racist.  For the reality is while most Americans are so because of the fortunate place of birth, most illegal immigrants are here by the same token!  How do you say?  Simple, they were born on this continent, so they can walk to the USA.  But what about all the starving Africans?  Asians?  indeed, while many of the illegal immigrants are looking for a BETTER life, very few are in danger of starving in their own country.  They are poor, but they are not starving (those that are starving usually do not have the means to make it to the USA).  And yet, the poor and starving of Asia, Africa, even Europe cannot do what the poor of the Americas can.  Walk to the USA.  They have to get on a plane or boat to make it here, which of course is a lot harder and a lot more costly.

So Mr. "accident of Birth" is a racist because he does not give a damn about Asians or Africans, just Latinos.  These are the first side racists.

The second side racists you will hear, see and unfortunately meet, usually on a college campus, but almost always in front of a crowd.  Preaching racism.  And they are usually trashing the country that gives them the right to speak out that way, something they are incapable of doing in the countries they claim to be their homelands.  They are either members of, or supporters of La Raza.  For you not Spanish speaking folks, the name La Raza means - THE RACE.

They do not care about any other race either.  They are race supremacists as well, just as the Aryan Brotherhood (funny that Iranians have their own advocacy group - with no Iranians as members), the New Black Panthers, or any other race supremacist group that advocates the rule of a race over all other races.

So on the illegal immigration debate, yes, Virginia, there are a lot of racists out there.  And they are the ones doing the name calling, not the ones that are seeking to enforce the laws of the land.  They are racists because they do not care about any race but Latino (I use that term since technically Brazilians are not Hispanics - by the American definition, not the classical definition).  They seek to deny African and Asian people the same accident of birth that Latinos enjoy.  And they just want to create a ruling class of Latinos, with all other races excluded from their garden of eden.

The only thing worse than an avowed racists, is a rabid racists hiding behind their accusations of racism of others.

Good article Doc. Lots of info to consider.

Thanks Nitro.  I guess Chibiabos served a useful purpose after all.  Even village idiots have a reason for existence.

The bottom line is these "race promoters" as you called them depend on one thing and one thing only, the ignorance of the average American. I wish I could say that the average American is smart enough to see thru the BS that people like this can go around crying about, but we all know it's because of the ignorance that these people thrive in the first place. It's because of this that I tend to get sick to my stomach when ever a Democrat politician promises better education. Because if they were telling the truth about better education, those who would get this better education may actually learn the truth about their BS and not vote for them in the future.

Ignorance, the only other thing as valuable as money. This is the oil and gas of every Liberal vehicle.

BTW, what was the article you spoke of Guy?

on May 13, 2010

Chuck, I don't believe ignorance is the greatest factor involved here, people know. Folks support others that have their worldview. If one believes they are oppressed or a victim, they will aggressively support those who preach that ideology, it's human nature. When one can be honest and ask themselves, "Am I really being oppressed or is it really my choices in life that are the cause of my current situation?", then they have come to terms with the reality of the issue.

Everyone knows a racism story, it may be personal or someone we know. It does exist (I believe things are getting better). But, there are people that are thin-skinned and really believe every thing bad that happens to them is because someone doesn't like their color (some whites included). These people are easily "used" by the people that Doc is talking about. Additionally, there are people that suffer from "guilt", usually not for something they personally did, but feel the need to correct some past mistakes they really don't understand to begin with.

The best thing one can do IMO, is be personally responsible. You are in control of your own destiny, and it doesn't matter how much may or may not like you, it doesn't matter because you are not relying on them to make your way in the world.

For some it is laziness.  They just do not care to take the time to learn. For others, it is an intransigence.  They simply do not want to learn.  For learning would disrupt their comfortable ignorance and expose them to the reality that they are idiots.  most liberals fall into this category.

BTW, what was the article you spoke of Guy?

It was BFD's article on "Jobs Illegals Would not Do".  He was basically retelling a time when he had a real crap job!  And it went off on a tangent based upon the one word in the title.

I do not think you are really disagreeing with Charles.  But Charles broke it down into 2 camps, stupidity and ignorance.  You basically touched on the 3rd camp, idiots.  Idiots have the capability to learn , so they are not stupid.  But they do not WANT to learn because of the threat it would entail to their world view.

But, there are people that are thin-skinned and really believe every thing bad that happens to them is because someone doesn't like their color (some whites included). These people are easily "used" by the people that Doc is talking about.

Some out of stupidity, some out of ignorance, but most out of being idiots.  They WANT to be used because it fits their bigotted view of the world.

I'm not really, but to imply ignorance would mean that people are unaware of what is happening. Some folks may be ignorant, but as it relates to your article, I just feel that is too broad a brush. While some people can be simple, their motivations can be a bit more complex. I'm sure my examples could be broken down even further.

I agree.  But a trivia question just yesterday said that essay writers suffer from 2 main problems.  One is picking a subject too broad, and the other picking one too narrow.  indeed, thematic blogs are types of essays and that is a problem. How much of a subject to use, while not writing a dissertation on it.  So yes, many times the brush is too broad and generalizations are made that create examples/groups into larger classifications.  most of the time for brevity's sake.

I know what you mean but in the end, they are ignorant in the fact that they don't try to get both sides of the story or issue and instead chose to base their opinions on what they know at this point or simply because they are Black, Hispanic, White, Asian, whatever without realizing they may actually be going against what they actually believe in.

Take for example the video I posted on my latest article here (shameless plug), the young man, apparently Hispanic, chose to put his "macho" mentality ahead of his point about respect. Rather than trying to prove how Hispanics are mistreated and disrespected in some way, he chose to act in a disrespectful manner by knocking the American flag to the ground (like a punk) making it harder for those he supposedly was protesting with to prove their point. That wasn't just idiotic, that was plain stupid.

Like Eric Holder?  If ever there was a punctuation on your article it is the latest revelation of our AG.  It seems he revels in being ignorant, or as I have stated, an idiot (capable of learning, so not stupid, and choosing to remain ignorant).

my latest article here (shameless plug)

Plug accepted.  You should update it with the Holder video as affirmation of  your point.

I saw something about him on the news, about admitting not reading the Arizona Immigration Law or something. I guess he must have said something along the lines of knowing what the law said but now looks like a fool for lying? I am not up to date on this fools stupidities or idiocy so I'll have to research it.

That is a good summation.
