Who will win the Nominations?
Published on November 4, 2004 By Dr Guy In Politics
The race for 2008 is already on. On the Democrat side, the key players have been known for quite some time. However on the republican side, the race is wide open. Fox has posed several likely candidates:

That leaves a potentially crowded field — including Sens. Frist of Tennessee, John McCain of Arizona, George Allen of Virginia, Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, New York Gov. George Pataki and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — with no early favorite.

For me, I like the Governors, so I dont think the senators have a chance. That eliminates McCain, Frist, Santorum, and Hagel. I was a bit surprised they mentioned George Allen, but he was a governor (and a damn good one), so he may be a dark Horse.

Massachuttes is too liberal, so that will kill Mitt Romney's chances. Guiliani looks good, but I think his lack of higher office will be a hindrance. So that leaves Pataki and Allen. My money is on Pataki. Besides, if he can get the nomination, he will stomp the democrats cause no one can call him Right Wing, and he will take NY out of the Democrat fold. Even if his opponent is Billary.

Even tho NY elected her as a senator, I dont think they like her a lot. She was just their side of center and that is why she won. Pataki is a poular NY governor, and knows how to make the hard decisions. We will see in 3 + years who gets the nod.

Also, have Mitch Daniels who just got elected to the office of Governor in Indiana as a possibility, also the current Governor of Texas is well liked the name evades me at the moment.

Of course, one who might run is Condi Rice; I don't think Powell will he is getting tired of politics.

Then you could go into former politicians: JC Watts from Oklahoma (House), Fred Thompson (Senate), and others.

It will be interesting to see who comes out for the primaries to run for the candidacy.

Speculation Plinko!!

I like Fred Thompson, but he wont run. He hated politics and went back to movies. JC and Condi are possibilities, but as you may have seen, many on the left think she is a dumb house n-word. I dont see how they can think that given how she ripped through the vaunted members of the 911 commission.

JC Watts suffered the same discrimination when he was a member of the House, Democrats are bigoted against any African American Republican and that is a very sad state of affairs for Congress.

It will be interesting to see what kind of Democrat Obama is, after all the Senate is an elitist club and depending on what mindset Obama has will decide which group might accept him!!

The Republicans will not nominate a pro-choice candidate.

Its such a shame Powell wont ever run for President he would make a good one and will very likely keep republicans in power for 4 more years after this.

Oh yeah I forgot to add that its pretty hard to call him a racist lol.

Dont bet on it. Repubicans are a lot more diverse and tolerant than the democrats. If Arnold Schwartenegger was eligible, he would be nominated in a heart beat, and he is pro choice.
