They just retire in the Democrat party
Published on October 27, 2004 By Dr Guy In Politics
It has been alleged that if your are a republican, you are a racist, and the proof of that is that the south is now republican. The left tries to do this every election to keep the blacks safely in their voting fold, and for the past several elections, it has worked.

Which is a pity since the best friend the blacks have are the republicans. The democrats that are racists, with few exceptions, remained in the democrat party and either retired or died. While some may point to Strom Thurmond as an example of racist democrats converting to the GOP, the simple fact he is one of only a handful of such cases. <.p>

Instead the real racists continue to inhabit the democrat party, altho they have toned down their rhetoric so as not to offend other members of the liberal coalition. Men Like Sen Byrd (former Kleage in the KKK), Fritz Hollings (who raised the confederate flag over the SC Statehouse) are still in the senate. Others like George Wallace, William Fulbright, Al Gore sr. retired as democrats and were openly embraced by the party even tho their rhetoric was clearly divisive and racist.

And today, the next generation of democrats, instead of repudiating their past, openly embrace the racists of the past. Bill Clinton talks of his political Idol, William Fulbright. AL Gore jr, has never spoken out against the preachings of his father. Each hold these men high in their esteem, even while pretending to be color blind.

But to be fair, other than bad judgement, the current crop of Democrat politicians, with some notable exceptions mentioned above, are just guilty of idol worship of the wrong kind. I do not doubt they are sincere in their profession of a color blind society.

Still, before buying the opiate of the liberals that 'the racists' have gone to the GOP, perhaps it would be best for them to look in their own closet at the countless skeletons in there. For the truth is that it was the Republicans that got the Civil rights act passed along with Johnson, and it is the Republicans that do more to help the minorities help themselves, than the enslaving liberals whose only mantra is the acquisition and consolidation of power, and for that, they must keep their subjects dependant upon their supposed largess.

Kind of like the slave owners kept the slaves dependant upon them 150 years ago. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

It's an easy attack for those on the left. They can claim that the right is racist and pretend that the racists on their side are only fighting for the people against (or for) whom they are racist. It's simply more dishonest partisan politics by the dishonest and the corrupt.

I'm just curious. Are you from the South?

I can tell you my African American Female Sociology teacher dislikes Kerry's attitude of 'plans and promises' when the few know the future of the economy tomorrow. From her sentiment I could gleam she was Anti-Kerry whether she is pro-Bush (John's Cousin) I do not know.

Nice quote at the end even if it is an old French one.

Hmm, got to go to Philosophy class and 'seek the wisdom' again!

PLINKO!!

No, I'm from California, which has racists as well, although Democrats might not acknowledge it, since non-white people supposedly can't be racist.

P.S. Since that 1964 civil rights act, what have Republicans done for minorities? Just interested. People keep bringing up that 40 year old vote. A lot of Southern Democrats became Republicans in that time. If you actually read my article, I mentioned that the racism of the Southern Republicans seemed to be at odds with the National Party.

*laugh*

California. 'Nuff said.

In other words, if the Republicans aren't fighting for affirmative action, don't have the support of a questionable group (that has no problem calling black people "colored"), or calling black people too stupid to vote electronically, they're racist and against civil rights.

In the politically correct world, if you believe that blacks are equal, that is racist.  if you beleive that blacks, or any minority are as good as whites, that is racist.  But if you believe they are inferior, and thus cannot compete on their own, then you are their friends.  if you treat them like trash, then you are an enlightened liberal.

Orwellian speak lives and thrives in the democrat party.  But dont tell them that.  Then they will call you a racist!

The blog names 1.  I know of 2 others.  Start naming names, or go play with your sheet wearing friends in the senate.

You cant.  because there arent any others.  Lies are cheap.  Allegations are cheaper.  You could not afford the truth.

Dr. Guy, "The left tries to do this every election to keep the blacks safely in their voting fold, and for the past several elections, it has worked. "

And I suppose that all of the Republican fear mongering, religous-right pandering, and telling people that if Kerry is elected he is going to ban the bible is different? These tactics are used by both sides and quite frankly...are nothing but diversions from the real issues at stake. All of these tactics are in bad taste and are designed as wedges so that we end up not focusing on the real issues. Too bad people fall for it every time.

This one is news to me.  I have never heard it, but then I am not a bible thumper.  Can you give me some links to this so I can verify it?

While scare tactics, to a degree, are used by both sides, I see nothing on the Republican side that comes even close to the racist rhetoric of the democrats.  There is a big difference between saying "He is going to raise your taxes" to " they are going to repeal Civil Rights".  The former is a distortion (or accurate portrayal in the case of Clinton and Mondale) of the candidates position.  The latter is a bald face lie meant only to keep the blacks enslaved to the one party.

Unfortunately, you last statement is all too true in any case.

That's why I think it's stupid when people post blogs about how the Republicans are adopting racists as if the Democrats don't have their bad apples.

The really sad fact is that the Republicans rejected almost all of them.  The racists that were or are democrats, just retired.  The republicans that replaced them were not racist, but were conservative.  But since the republicans have taken over the south, and the south was once known for racism (like the north was not?), they jump from a to c with no B in the middle.  And that is why they are the minority party and always will be.  The refuse to see the truth, other than their warped view of it.  And so they are condemned to repeat past mistakes over and over.
