Democrats need to Get their Story Straight
Published on July 9, 2008 By Dr Guy In Democrat

Nancy "Queen Bee" Pelosi thinks she is president - or maybe just her royal highness.  She is demanding that Bush open up the Strategic Oil Reserves.  Why?  She thinks it will lower prices.  How?  Increasing supply.

But this same person is dead set against opening up American oil reserves in the ground.  Which actually has a lot more "reserves" and in the end, could provide a lot more oil.  Why?  It will not help.  Yea right.

Of course the difference is a classic difference between a child and an adult.  Sucking on the teat of the strategic reserves has an immediate gratification effect, with no thought to the future.  Much like a child who wants their wants when they want them.  Drilling for more oil is a plan for the future needs.  And of course keeping prices high today also promotes investment and development of alternatives to oil (something that Pelosi apparently only pays lip service to).  In other words, acting like an adult.

But one thing we have learned about the worst congress in the history of this nation is that - 1) They are acting like petulant children and demanding their wants when they want them even when they conflict with their stated aims - 2) they do not beleive in the pap they feed their willing sycophants - 3) they have no energy plan and never have - 4) they want everything to be blamed on someone else "Johnny did it!".

Which is fine for 6 year olds, and those incapable of caring for themselves.  As we have seen, that appears to be most of the nation in their view.  However it is glaringly obvious that congress is the biggest child in the nation right now.  With no plans other than immediate gratification.  At the expense of the rest of the nation, their principals (I know that is an oxymoron in this case), their constituents, and the real children.

Just like a Veruca Salt - spoiled brats.

She is another idiot, just like Obama.  McCain could clinch November by strongly supporting getting our own resources.

Didn't Pelosi promise she would get gas prices back down to $2/gal back in 2006?  Nancy Babe, quit whining about what Bush isn't doing and stand up to your own words!

IN addition to this election being between 2 people that most on the right really do not care about (6 of one, half dozen of the other), it also appears to be between 2 candidates that are both doing their damnedest to lose.

Tell a child to quit whining and what happens? They whine louder.

I've been listening to the BBC and not paying much attention to American news lately. It seems the same thing happens everyday and i haven't missed much. By the way, I did respond to your comment and would be interested to know what differences you found between Cartimandua and Genoa. I haven't actually read this third book in a while.

Bringing prices back down really wouldn't be all that hard. We export millions of gallons of fuel and crude every single day. This should be curtailed immediately. That single step would increase the supply here and bring down prices immediately.

Long term we do need to be pumping more of our own oil and I think that's eventually going to have to happen. But short term we need to stop sending the majority of what we are refining to other countries. Let them build their own refineries and stop siphoning off of ours.

Also, the 'splash and dash" program should be stopped. These oil companies get a credit for every gallon of fuel they export if 1% of that is biofuel. Huh? Ok, maybe they should get credit for the biofuel itself, but for every single gallon just because 1% of it is bio? What a rip-off of the American taxpayer!

Another program that no doubt has as its core - good intentions. If the government is paying to esport fuel, it means we are subsidizing the rest of the world!

How 'bout we give them a subsidy to keep fuel in the US instead?
