Hey! You cant stop progress!

Another example of RIAA and MPAA trying to circumvent their already onerous laws. When will they learn?

I freely admit that some do use P2P to download copyrighted materials. But the Internet did not start this. Indeed, they tried this lame excuse with Cassette tapes many years ago!

And with all their assigned power to stop it, with gestapo tactics and storm trooper enforcement, they have not dented it.

Why? Because the paradigm has shifted. Instead of embracing the new milleau, they are trying to be the little dutch boy that sticks his finger in the dike.

The simple fact of the matter is, people will get their song, and most will get them legally. For those that dont, nothing they can do will stop them from getting them illegally. But instead of embracing new technology (iTunes, MSN and Walmart), they chose to fight all of it. For the simple fact that they have ripped off artists and want the gravy train to continue.

Janis Ian saw that, and she is fighting them, as are many other artists., expecially those who can't break into the big Time, and rely on this medium to get noticed. And in their so doing so, they trample our rights worse than any government agency can.

I have been asked to be their SS troops in this, and I have refused. While I dont condone illegal file sharing, I actually welcome file sharing! Anyone tried to download the XP SP2 patch from Microsoft just after it was released? I quit it after it got up to 19 hours, and found it in another place.

These clowns, by their action, are trying not only to protect their dying monopoly, but kill the Freeware/Shareware market. After all, when I write a program that I think is neat (and I have), I share it on P2P. And while it is beg ware, I dont lose a cent if no one pays me. But if no one downloads it, then I know I dont get a cent! Some people are nice and send money. Most do not.

So let me see if I have this right. Under MPAA/RIAA, I get nothing. Under P2P, I get some change.

It is time for Fritz and Orin to retire, and for some fresh minds to get in there, put these clowns in their place and let this stuff alone!

hey Stupids! you are not losing money! Do you think thiefs would pay you if they could not steal it? But more importantly, that honest guy just heard a new song he downloaded so much, he BOUGHT the CD!

Get rid of the Gestapo! Before they get tid of you and the grandma in NJ that did not even own a computer!

now there are some real nazis for you!
