Life outside of Work
Published on April 11, 2008 By Dr Guy In Blog Communities

I had to leave early from work today (Early?  I got in at 6, and left at 2, with no lunch - yea that is early!) to accomodate one of the "you have an appointment between 2 and whenever to fix yoru phone" companies.  Fortunately for me, they were here right at 2.  With only minor problems, they got my phone switched over to VOIP, and I got to mow the hay field (it had only been 2 weeks, but good weeks for grass!).

Before I was done, they said they were done.  Not quite, but 10 minutes later they had everything back in order.  And I have new phone service, new premium channels, and a mowed lawn.

On a simply gorgeous day!  I did not realize they still existed!  Expecially since I will be working at least 14 hours tomorrow (my "weekend"),

SO I am sipping a brew (first one in the last 6 weeks), sunning with the cats, and wondering if I am going back to work.  I probably will.  But today, all I need is one of Roy's RIb Eyes!  And it would be perfect!

Ah, time off!  It feels good!

So all you gotta do is go down to the bank and take out that 2nd mortgage and get you one!

Ah, time off! It feels good!

ENJOY!

The Light Orb has been hidden by much Sky Water, Cloud Bangs, and Air Flashes here.    I even hear reports of the possible White Death making another run this weekend.

Playing with words is fun.

Enjoy the time off.

ENJOY!

I am. I love laptops and wireless. And spring! Heat, no humidity and a breeze!

Now to get that second mortgage.

The Great Carnac says .......Sacrafice a Talking Gecko to the god of good weather.

Will it help? It will get rid of that annoying pest! Cant say about the weather tho.

I would...but that little CGI bastard is intangible.  Unless I get him on a flashdrive...then he's screwed!

Well at least you had time to mow the lawn.......my poor husband is counting the days and our lawn doesn't look so hot (we have yet to buy a mower).   He's working seven days a week.  He leaves at 7:30 am and gets home about 9 pm, six days a week.  Church on sunday morning and then back at the books from say 1-6pm.

Monday.....it's all over!

Not only is the lawn looking quite bad, but my husband isn't looking too good lately himself.  I feel really badly about this, because I don't have a job yet so I'm doing what I can (very little) to help him when I can.

Enjoy that ribeye. It does sound good. Today is our first sunny AND warm (60°) day in I don't know when. We had everything yesterday, sleet, snow, hail and maybe rain.

Have a great night. Enjoy the new channel, steak and make some phone calls.

Ah yes, while you're all enjoying the first glimpses of the summer to come (with the exception of Zoo, of course), we're watching summer slip away.  The days are getting shorter and cooler and soon, the deciduous trees will start dropping their leaves.

At the moment, though, I'm sitting in my sunny kitchen, enjoying my second cup of coffee for the day and a couple pieces of fresh banana bread while envying my friends on the other side of the world.

He does need to take some time off. The lawn is really growing here now, so I expect it to be lush in florida.

At least it rained today. Does not make me feel so bad about spending 14 hours at the office.

I still have to figure out the new features. The phone is the same, but we are supposed to have voice mail (we had that before, but I suspect we have to set up the new box), caller ID (Yippee!) and long distance (free).

Oh, and we do have to test the fax. They said it would work. I will beleive it when I see it.

Six months from now, the tables will be turned. Mother Earth does not play favorites with spring!

Actually, for the next 4 weeks, the weather here should be close to perfect. Warm, breeze, no humidity!

After that, the breeze disappears, the humidity and temperature go up, and tempers get shorter.

Spring and fall have the best weather. Oh, and if you make ribeyes I promise to bring the alcohol and my appetite.

BTW .. What new premium channels do you have?

Let's see. I think I get another day off around mid-june.

BTW .. What new premium channels do you have?

We had HBO (all whatever number of channels), and now have Starz and TMC. What really counts is we now have those for the free on-Demand! Which is what my son and wife are happy about.
