Or not

One of the things the democrats promised (one of the very few things) when Elected was to clean up congress and get rid of the way things had been done.  To bring in a more ethical and cleaner governance.  And to some degree, some have been trying.  Some actually tried to air out Earmarks (and then others backed off of that) in the house.  The senate is now trying to clean up its ethics.  Well maybe.

Sen. Jim DeMint is apparently for it.  And since it only affects the senate and not the House, the Ethics bill does not need to go to conference.  And he has stated so.  But the Democrat leadership is fighting it, and DeMint is saying that is just a way to water it down (going to conference).

But apparently the staff of Harry Reid disagrees. In the words of his spokesman, Jim Manley the assertions of Jim DeMint are:

“phony as a two-dollar bill.”

Uh, huh, and these guys are writing our laws?  What's next?  Outlawing Mondays too?

Good going Harry Reid!  Maybe next time you can hire the guy with the sign that says "I are smart".
