My Son the Maestro
Published on July 14, 2007 By Dr Guy In Blogging

Yes, my son, the movie critic, the music afficianado, the one that loves my music!  Oh, he loves some of the new stuff as well.  But to give you a hint, his favorite group is the Doors! (one of my top 5).

I was listening to some of his stuff, and saw the Song Bang, Bang - by Nancy Sinatra.  It is not bad.  But I told him the hit was by another artist(s).  can you guess?

So he downloaded the Sonny and Cher version.  Yes, that one is better.  But that he had the one was a trip through memory lane!

My Son.  The 14 year old Guitar playing Movie critic!  WHo use to think that Freddy and Jason was all there was to movies!

he also has Paint it black!  Now that is a top 5! (even if the group is bottom 5).  I guess i-Tunes has its place!

When all is said and done, music reminds us of what it was and where we were.  And as much as our children hate our music, I have one son that seems to think that while the new stuff (some of it) is not bad, the old stuff (my music) is so much better!

Thank you God!  I never had that relationship with my parents.

Bang bang, you shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down

The version your son has is the best because it was used in the movie "Kill Bill".

You can tell me, but then he will tell you. Along with the whole history! (as I said, he is the Movie guy!)

There was a test on the internet about Supporting actors. I got 4 of 15. he got 10!

They may be a joke to many right now and I hope you're not judging them only on that. That would be like judging Michael Jordan's career strictly on the years he played for the Washington Wizards. Look at their body of work they are most definitely NOT in the bottom 5.

hey dig! Ok, saw both. I am just plain not a Stones fan. Other than Paint it Black. That song is one of my top 5. But I do not like them except for that song. Long history on that song. Has a lot of meaning (not the lyrics, the timing and such) for me.

But you can post as Rose as I think she is a hell of a lot cuter than you anyway, and it does my old man genes proud to see such a lovely person taking an interest in my ramblings anyway. You? You are just a great comic that I am not going to post a picture of on my wall!

The Audio Bullies remix of the Nancy Sinatra version is better. It becomes a rocking dance tune.

The best laid plans - my son is taking a shower.

So I will ask - where can we get this golden tune? hey! I love nancy, but she is not cher!

I don't know what you said, Dr Guy, but if you're looking for the remix try iTunes and search for 'shot you down'.
